Hood River has great breweries and B&B's. The marina is a wonderful place to watch the wind surfers.

Windsurfing and kiting is adjacent to the Marina, where on a typical windy afternoon in the Gorge there will be 100 surfers and kiters. Weather is always better in Hood River than Portland.

They love to run around then stop by the park before and after we go to the river.

The drive up through the gorge is magnificent. The highlight in season is watching all the wind surfers. There are literally hundreds (maybe thousands?) of them with sails in every color under the sun. Be sure to take a camera!
