I have had their wine before... But going to the vineyard was well worth the trip. The wine tasting was cheap, and came with a souvenir wineglass. We tasted 12 different wines, and ended up buying a case of wine before we left!! It was well worth the visit!!!!
We visited Dennis Vineyards on the Saturday after Thanksgiving as a part of a wine trail we created east of Charlotte, NC and it was probably the busiest of our day. They have 3 choices of a tasting - 3 for free, 6 with the glass for a fee, or 8 with the glass for a fee. We saw so many wines that we chose the 8 tasting and were glad. They have many great wines and their labels were a lot of fun as well. The staff really appear to enjoy the customers and are very attentive. We can see why this is one of the more popular wineries in the area. There is also many wine type gifts for purchase. We highly recommend this winery for a visit.
Great selection of many different wines. Over the past several years I have never been disappointed in the friendly service and helpful advice from the staff. I love the sweet wines like Spring and the Christmas special wines and most of the fruity blueberry and strawberry, etc. varieties. Well worth the drive for the selection and the ability to taste before you buy! Would make a great Christmas gift!
Nice atmosphere; Building available for parties and weddings. Cons: If you don't like their wine, you are in trouble as that is all they will serve.
Dennis Vineyards has a great selection of wines for every imaginable occasion. From their Spring selections to their Holiday selections, everyone will find something pleasing to their palate!
I absolutely LOVE Dennis Vineyards. Love. Love. Love. Their staff is consistently friendly and attentive and are always willing to assist me as soon as I walk in the door. The outdoor patio ambiance provides a relaxing experience to relish a glass or two (or the whole bottle) of wine with friends while gazing across the countryside at the vineyards and pond across the street. Definitely a necessity to stop by here regularly. Bear Creek Red is my FAVORITE!!!
Had a coupon for a discount wine tasting. Would not have gone without the coupon. However, I did find their wines very good. Staff lets you taste 6 wines of your choice but does not provide much info about what you are drinking. Having said that, the taste on your palate is what counts rather then a history lesson on the grapes that make the wine. Additionally, wine tour was $6 dollars a person and I thought this was a little much. We have been to other wineries. Hate to say it, but to me all winery tours are pretty much the same. We didn't get much info up front and didn't expect to get much info by taking a tour. It was good for an afternoon out, but probably won't be back.
I came here on a rainy Saturday and the tasting room was crowded and since it had stoppedraining at the moment, there was a group outside as well. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, inside and out. The wines are mostly sweet and were pretty good. I was allowed totaste a couple of wines that I didn't initially pick, and ended ujp buying one of those. You haveto drive to find this winery, but it's worth the trip.
i am biased and spoiled from the wineries of northern virginia. however, this is probably the best place in the area for central carolina. carolina climate requires different grapes to produce depending on where in the state. this region requires different muscadine grapes, which tend to be very sweet. of which are not primarily grown any where else. i am personally not a fan, as all the wineries in the area are simply terrible. this has to be the best of a bad situation. they need higher elevations, instead of being fringe on the edge... more than likely will never return. sorry dennis!
Dennis Vineyards is a wonderful place. The vineyards are beautiful, and they have a wonderful place to have events. We have attended the festivals they have had and they are always great fun.
Out in the middle of nowhere, no kidding, but so worth it!Two friends and I made the trek out here on a rainy day, expecting no crowd due to weather, only to find a large and jolly group of people already inside The people who worked there were, I think, all family. They certainly all had a similar look. They were cheery, knowledgeable, a little cheeky, and had a generous hand with the wine.My friends and I each got a sample 5, then we sampled off each other's samples (thus sampling 15), and then we had to sit for a little while because we'd drunk a bit too much.
Lauren Dennis helped me during the wine tasting and she was amazing. She did a great job of explaining the wines and the background behind them. She also did an excellent job of recommending which wines taste best with chocolates and other candies. I was very, very happy with my visit. I like to keep an open mind when I visit wineries. Every one of them is so unique that I try not to have any expectations. I was busy watching the road and my GPS and pulled into the winery, my first thought was this is small and cute. It was not until I got out of my car that I looked across at their beautiful vines, what a spectacular view. The inside of the winery was very clean, organized and the staff seemed genuinely happy to see me. The vineyard was a very pleasant surprise and I would recommend the drive out. Visiting while the vines are full and when you can roll your windows down to just enjoy the drive is perfect. (Sweetheart is a favorite, Peach is very good, great selection of wines for every kind of wine lover. Over 20 wines and the prices are very, very reasonable)
Dennis Vineyards was very enjoyable. Their wines are varied and full of flavor. The staff and owner were very friendly and the view of the property is lovely. There was a wedding taking place and we were able to enjoy the occasion from across the way.
I'm new to winery exploration, but I can still identify this as a very relaxing, peaceful spot to spend an afternoon. My boyfriend and I did a tasting of six wines each and really enjoyed the majority of the ones we selected. (Incidentally, no other wineries we've visited have offered us the chance to pick the wines to try--I appreciated that.) They had several non-grape fruit options, and I found the peach to be quite wonderful. In the end, my boyfriend and I agreed that the Magnolia wine was our favorite and we purchased a chilled bottle and enjoyed it on the porch. It was a lovely experience and certainly worth the drive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dennis Vineyards, We have a group of people that enjoy touring the wineries in the area and Dennis was on our bucket list. Beautiful surrounding and the wines were very good.Enjoyed our tasting and had a glass of wine sitting on the outside patio overlooking the vineyards.Beautiful day and wonderful people.K.
