What fun I had spending money here! Southern Seasons was a blast sampling all the various products with a lovely staff. But then, what a pleasant surprise all the other shops were fun and classy. Metropolis had some of the most unique fashions I have ever seen- fun and eclectic.Don't miss this mall. The only big box store there is Dilliards, but it is a discount version- 20% off the original prices. Yahoo!!!
Aside from the very nice Southern Seasons market and a couple of good restaurants, this mall feels outdated and somewhat empty. There are some boutique shops, a couple of department stores, a local library branch, and a few galleries, but many stores have closed over the past few years and the mall feels somewhat dormant. Nonetheless, nice for casual browsing.
It was too crowed and difficult to navigate through
Not for serious name-brand shoppers, this is what happens when you cross a liberal town lacking a solid core downtown with an old-style, small mall. The shops here are mostly local stores, although some major chains present (Dillards, Walden Books, Print Shop, Roses, Kerr Drugs, etc). Southern Season is the main draw, and it really is a fabulous housewares store, with great a la carte food and deserts, as well as a charming restaurant and bar/coffee lounge. Not at all your typical mall anchor, and huge (used to be a Belk, I believe). Food options at the mall also include Spice Street, in my opinion an over-hyped, over-priced trendy restaurant, Bear Rock Cafe, a great sandwich shop, a nice Pizza place (Alfredo's, I believe) and a Chick fil a. Also a K&W in the parking lot (oh joy). All and all a decent place - but hardly an "attraction," with the exception of Southern Season.
