owl's eye vineyard and winery

This was BY FAR the BEST NC winery/vineyard my wife and I have ever visited. We like dry reds and most NC wineries we have been to in the past have overly sweet or astringent or watered down reds. This was the first winery we've been to that had MULTIPLE reds that are both bold and fruity without being overly sweet. And the view at this vineyard is beautiful! Great place for a wedding, reception, or other special gathering with friends and family. We hope to be back!

We didn't sit outside since in was January, but it would be a great place to visit in warmer weather. The wines were really good and some of them go great with chocolate (we happened to have our own sample with us).

This winery has a great ambience and very tasty wine. A true bright spot of our otherwise unremarkable trip.

The grounds and vineyard are beautiful. Upon entering the courtyard guests are greeted by various plants and flowering shrubs (from a local nursery) identified by signage. The view from the courtyard is amazing. Inviting outdoor tables, for picnics or just enjoying a nice glass of wine, overlook the vineyard and have a view of the mountains in the distance. We haven't even entered the tasting room, and we're already impressed! We were warmly greeted by Candace, who explained the vineyard history and introduced each of the wines as we savored them. The facility was very clean, the wines were great, the staff informative and friendly. Well worth the hour drive. One more plus: they also have beer and nonalcoholic drinks available for purchase. I will definitely return.

Atmospere is very welcoming. Have been to the Owls Eye on different occasions.Presentation and explaination of each wine tasted was informative..Also like the fact that you can celebrate family occasions. The food and presentation of the foodwas terrific.We keep going back, so apparently Owls Eye is doing something right.

We were in the area of Shelby, NC visiting family and decided to stop at the Owl's Eve for a tasting. It was a beautiful yard with many flowering plants outside. The lady conducting the tasting was very pleasant. There were several good wines as well, so we did make a few purchases. If you like this kind of thing, this is a good stop.

We had our wedding at Owl's Eye in September and it was a breeze! The staff there made the whole event go smoothly, giving us advice and recommend vendors. I can honestly say my Wedding was a pie of cake!
