Especially in the spring and fall, this walk through nature is so refreshing and beautiful, and close to the center of the city.
There are too numerous things to see and do at the Arboretum. Plant galore, trails, creeks, gazebos and playgrounds. We love the Summer Solstice event held there in June. There are so many events held there you have to check with Greensboro Parks and Rec calendar.
Typical city park...linear alongside Wendover Avenue...can be noisy. Nice plantings are marked with botanical names. It has both hardtop and wooded trails. A good place to get some exercise.
Great place for outside activities including hula hoopers sometimes on Sundays. Such a pretty place with sun and shade and some good playground equipment for kids. Good for a picnic too.
Just another gorgeous example of the great free parks & gardens that Greensboro has to offer. Great place for a short stroll to escape the hustle and bustle or for a longer trip on a weekend to relax and unwind. Beautiful flowers and plants are interspersed among giant trees providing ample shade and escape from the heat... a lovely walk any time of year. A definite must-see for anyone in the area. There is bathroom access and a learning center, plentiful water fountains throughout the gardens, and even metal dog bowls at all of the water fountains for your canine companion! Love this place!
Beautiful place, lots of space, landscaped nicely. It is close to a busy road and there are huge power line towers overhead but overall it is a nice place.
Whether you want some peace and quiet among yourself, to walk the dog, to enjoy a quiet conversation with that special someone and enjoy the beautiful flowers, you will not be sorry stopping here..
This is a 17 acre park like setting with nice walkways. What ruins it is the 4 lane major road that runs next to it. The traffic noise ruined it for us. I would pick one of Greensboro's other parks over this one.
A laid back stroll needed after tax day? This is the place. If you like it you'll want to try the bog garden as well; they're fairly close. No wait; do them on separate occasions. Too much of a good thing you know
This is a large park with extensive grounds. Many of the plants and trees are labeled so it's a great way to learn. The sidewalks are very wide which accommodates the many pedestrians, joggers, baby strollers, dogs, etc. One section of the park is next to a highway/road and some power lines which is not as appealing as the rest of the park. Even in the fall, the park was quite busy. I did not find it as peaceful as the other parks I visited on this trip. It is beautiful though and very well maintained. My favorite part was turning a corner and finding the gorgeous, extravagantly huge wind chimes. Very nice.
Thoroughly enjoy this little park. Visit all the time for walks with my girlfriend. Labels on the plants, nice walking paths, not too busy (, bathrooms!). Pretty in summer and winter -- I think of it as a little extension of Duke gardens in Greensboro (used to live near Duke).
This is such a nice place to just go take a walk and relax. The flowers are beautiful and the trails are very nice and manicured. It does get very crowded on weekends. I like to go during the week on my lunch break.
Great side trip and fantastic scenery. Highly reccommend for family and dates. Great display of plants and flowers
A bit busy on the weekends but overall one of the nicer parks in town. Parking can be tricky if you are trying to get to the playground and don't know to turn further down the street.
Found this place while working out with my trainer and thought it was absolutely beautiful. It's such a nice place that makes you'll almost forget you're in a busy city. I went back a couple of times and discovered the rest of the park, there's beautiful flowers and trees with different sections for different flowers, nice benches to sit and talk. I would recommend it for a nice walk for a couple or even just a jog for someone working out. It's also pet friendly for pets on a leash.
