This is a bargain. You pay to get in and stay all day while riding as many times as you want. You can bring a cooler of food and drinks to leave in the car. There are tables outside to sit and eat. This saves money instead of buying food inside. Just get your arm stamped so you can come and go. Go early because there is usually a 20 minute wait for each attraction. The wave pool was the best part in our opinion. They offer package of pictures that photographers take throughout your visit. Not recommended for weak swimmers.
Been going here since 2010 and I love this place ! Always nice and clean and good music playing throughout the park. The star of the water park is The Thunder Bay Wave Pool. It is the best wave pool I've ever been with a good amount of time before a comes. The food is overpriced but good.
When you are not near the beach, another way to tire out the kids. I do like the wave pool. Looking around everyone is having a good time.
Great place to go and have fun in the sun. I went on 4th of July and we got to enjoy the fireworks. We watched them for about an hour. Every time we thought they had shot off the last one....here comes some more. Overall great place to go.
My wife and I really enjoy our summers at Wet N Wild Emerald Pointe. It is such a blessing to be able to take a couple of hours to "escape" the stress of the week by heading out to the park for a refreshing swim. We have been season pass holders for several years now. I am looking forward to the new addition being built this winter.
I went to wet and Wild Sat Aug 30th with the family and was very dissapointed. The water in every attraction I went too was FILTHY. Dodging bloody bandaids and tampons, Hair wads the size of tumble weeds, and I cant even explain how the bathrooms were by the wave pool. Im not sure how they operate and can even have a license with all the filthy things around you. Went to get lunch with the kids and a cheeseburger, Fries and a bottle of water was $12.30. I would've broght my own food but your not allowed. I have lived in Winston Salem for 16 years and never been to wet N wild. I can honestly say that now that I went, I will never go again. Couldn't wait to go home and shower, wash the mersa off me..
You can tell that management does not stress customer service. Stasis has a 'don't care' attitude. The people we were with waited a hour in line with their small daughter after asking the staff member at the entrance if she could ride. When they got to the top they were told she could not ride. Again a don't care attitude. First time here will not come back.
Have been going here for last 3 yrs. Price of food goes up every year and it's not very good! A pizza will cost you $20 and its a frozen pizza that they buy in bulk probably for about 2 bucks and then heat up. Lines are really long at the food concessions, need more staff. Bring ur own food is my advice. The wave pool keeps breaking down and very inconsistent and mediocre at best. The lazy river is just that, slow and boring. They seem to have done away with a lot of sun loungers and put in more chairs... Also there is not enough umbrellas to shade from the hot sun. You need to get there really when the park opens to get the seating arrangements u want.Labor weekend - extremely busy sat August 30th, I guess what can u expect!! What got me was the park closed at 5pm!!! Really! Holiday weekend, last one of the season and it shuts at 5pm. Anyone who arrived later in the day was a waste of their time and money! Lines for the rides extremely long.
Thanks for your review. We appreciate hearing about our guests' experiences. Take care!Kerrie Brancazio
I went to Wet N Wild with my two sons. They both really had a good time and are already planning the next visit. I would suggest to get to the park when it opens and ride the rides you really like first before the crowds get to big. Devil Den and Tunnel of terror are both really popular and will have long lines. Food prices are what you can expect at any park. We had a large pizza and four sodas for $28. The park is fun and there are rides for all ages. The one draw back is having to stand in for the tubes for each ride. The park was clean and is a fun place to visit.
This was our second visit to Emerald Pointe and it was a fantastic day! We arrived at 9:30, parked in the front row, established a great "home base" and then had a blast all day. We visited with a group of four families (6 adults and 7 kids) and going as a group was the way to go. The older children buddied up and ran the big rides together. The younger ones (still 48") went off with the adults. We had one child who was 2 inches too small for the big attractions. But there is SO much to do there that she didn't feel like she missed out. There were still slides she could go on that didn't make her feel like a "little kid." Shipwreck Cove, the Lazy River, the wave pool and the Raging Rapids were favorites for all. Our daredevils loved The Edge and the Tunnel of Doom. We got a lot of rides in before the crowds arrived. And we stayed until closing and got in a lot more between 5:30 and 7 as the crowds thinned out. We brought our own picnic, which we ate tailgate style at our vehicles. That saved us a lot! Food is crazy expensive there. that's really my only complaint. But with a captive audience, and don't allow outside food or drinks, they can charge whatever they want. Best advice, your own food and take a break, during the peak crowds, to eat. Bottom line is other than the food cost, Emerald Pointe is a super fun way to spend a day with family and friends. If we lived in Greensboro, we'd have a season pass.
Traveled to Wet N Wild for a Saturday day trip with two school age boys and another mom and her son. Nothing stood out today: good or bad. We did pack lunch in a cooler and I would recommend that. We paid $10 cooler storage and fed all five us for the cost of one hot dog and a drink. Keep in mind that some rides are two riders only- no singles. That was a problem for us as we had three boys with us.
My ten year old daughter and I went on Wednesday Aug. 20th. We arrived at 9:30am and parked in the first row near the front gate. Walked up, bought our ticket (using the Citipass Go Play Save book's BOGO coupon), got into the park and in line to get a locker by 9:35. We immediately went to the Dragon's Den and were the first to ride it. We went on a second time immediately and were probably the fifth pair on it that day. We had ridden 5 rides in the first 20 minutes in the park. Earlier is better at this park. Ate lunch (again another BOGO coupon from the Citipass book) around noon and it wasn't too busy. By mid-afternoon the park was busy and there were unaccompanied minors running around like Lord of the Flies. The lifeguards can't watch for safety and correct behavior issues at the same time. It would be nice if the other staff in the park would stop children from running immediately by telling them as they run by. Also extra staff to hand out the tubes instead of the lifeguards would speed things up. They could make sure people actually hand them to the next person waiting in line instead of kids just taking the tube they just used and walk right back up the hill (Roaring Rapids solo tube line - saw it happen 8 times while we waiting 20 minutes in line). A staff member checking life vests BEFORE the Cyclone water ride starts for the next group would be nice. The second time we went on we were at the back end of the 20 or so people that are allowed to go. By the time the lifeguard checked all 20 life vests the ride had been going for 3 minutes, of a 6 minute ride. While he was checking life vests there was only one lifeguard (on the other side) watching all participants. The ride should be stopped, emptied out, life vests checked, then everyone gets in at the same time and the ride started. This way, both lifeguards are watching everyone in the water. Overall it was a clean park with friendly staff. We would go again using lots of coupons to get BOGO tickets and meals. Wish parents/guardians would teach their children to behave and have manners if they are going to let them go off on their own in the park. Pretty sad when my 10 year old commented a few times "Why are those kids breaking the rules?" through out the day and no staff (who see them doing it) correct them.
We went with the church youth choir on 8/16 which was Youth Christian Day at the park. Great event. The park was busy, really too busy to stand in line. I have never had to stand in line for a lazy river before and it really looked like fun. We didn't have time to stand in line with the 6 year old and the kiddie slide and pools right next to the lazy river line. We enjoyed the kiddie slides and pools. Our 11 year old enjoyed the Thunder Slide. We just really needed more time in all and I know the park visit would have been awesome. I did love the Wave pool--it was absolutely great to be in it and enjoy he waves and water. I loved to watch everyone in the waves-especially when the big wave came. This was one of the pools me, my husband, our 6 year old daughter and 11 year old son ( pre-teen :)) all enjoyed spending time together. That was awesome. We plan to have a family day trip to the park soon! Overall the kids from church really enjoyed themselves. I just wonder if even a full day would be enough time???
If you are looking to get wet this is the place to go. Water slides for miles. I love the lazy river to me that is the most relaxing ride they have so peaceful
