We took our grandchildren ages 7 and 8 on the Polar Express. It was a delight from beginning to end. It last about 70 minutes. Perfect for young children. We were in car A and had the most entertaining conductor and elves. The book is read. I recommend you take your own copy. Also if you have not read it ,be sure to do that before the trip. We were served hot chocolate and cookies soon after departing. Then the fun begins. There was singing and dancing in the aisles. The children were encouraged to join in the fun. We even went through a tunnel just like the story. The only disappointing thing was the North Pole. It was a little shabby. It might have been better to have Christmas Lights back in the woods outlining structures rather than the buildings they had. Santa visits each child and gives them the first gift of Christmas. You can have your picture taken with Santa or take it yourself. You will need a flash.Comments from my grandson when he saw the made in China on the bell." That kind of takes the magic out of it". I explained that even though Santa was very magical, even he couldn't get to the North Pole in 30 minutes. However it is fun to pretend with the elves and conductor. If your children don't read, you don't have to worry about it. He still had a wonderful time. There is an activity tent and gift shop next to the train station. No restaurants on that property, but some in French Lick. Go and enjoy
My husband and I browsed around this little shop and both found things we liked. For such a small community, there's a bit of everything inside, from jewelry to glass work and painting, pottery, even dog leashes!Everything is handmade so be sure to stop in and support the locals!
Something for everyone. Turned pens, wood bowls, blown glass, photography, soaps, wire art, pottery and the list goes on. Wonderful local talent! located on the corner of College and Maple. If you are planning a trip to French Lick, IN. worth a visit.
My wife made me go in here, and while I'm not a big "shopper" or "browser" I enjoyed the pieces of local work they had here. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for that special or unique piece for their home/business. Everyone was also very nice and warm so that was a major plus.
There are all types of artwork for sale here, all by local artists. Paintings, photography, jewelry, soaps, dolls, woodcarvings, pottery, just to name of few of the items. It is located in the red brick museum building. Worth a visit if you are in French Lick.
