I attended a Ledisi concert here. None of this has to do with the performers, they were great. For starters, you have to walk through the casino to get to the venue. I had to inhale cigarette smoke during the walk. It would be nice if there was a way to get to the venue without going through the casino. The room was nice and cozy. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Well, except for the floor seats. The view was great, but really, the seats are bad. They are like cheap, uncomfortable folding chairs. This was really cheesy. After the concert, many people tried to go to the buffet. The line was extremely long, when we finally got to the front, the lady was nice enough to let us know that they would be closing soon and not likely to be cooking much more. Perhaps on nights when shows are booked, they should consider leaving the restaurant open longer. Finally, getting to the parking lot was absolutely horrific. Hundreds of people trying to use the same set of elevators at once has to be a fire hazard. Several people took to the stairwell. Imagine walking up 4 flights of stairs in your date night shoes. Yeah! Once we finally got to the car, it was another 45 minutes before we got out of the parking lot. I think they need to work on event day logistics.

We saw Boz Scaggs there last night. Our first time at the theater. Awesome concert, Boz does not disappoint. But I'm not here to review Boz. The theater is nice and the sound system really good. There's a big gap between the front section (100's ) seating and the (200) seating. Great room to dance however kind of distracting with people getting up to get drinks or use the bathroom. We were in section 201 row N and the seats were fine. You're not close to the stage, but the two big screens on either side help with that. I was most impressed with the seats themselves. Big comfy seats, did not feel squished in at all. Free parking! The only negative and why I did not give it 5 stars is that you have to walk through the casino to get to the Venue. The smoke about killed me. Yes, I would go back to see another concert here.

Sure the Casino leaves you with a funny depressing feeling see all those people that probably should be saving their money instead of hoping to hit it big, but go past that...past the buffet full of so-so food and some heavy eaters, and go to the Venue. As cheesy as it seems, it actually is a great place to see a show. I have seen everyone from Aretha Franklin to Megadeth there in the past few years. I have had seats on the mail floor for some acts, pressed up against the stage for Judas Priest, and up in the 3rd level for Bad Co and Others. All in all every seat or location is decent. The sound is decent and the shows run on time. The staff has always been cool as well. If a band you like, doesn't make it to Chicago, the little drive over the boarder is worth it. Just set a limit on how much you want to lose in the Casino. Try to get out fast as the parking garage can be brutal since there is a light at the end of it which holds up traffic big time.

I've been meaning forever to see this band, and finally got around to it while visiting Chicago. The band was just fantastic, and this Auditorium was nothing short of excellent. For sure the next time we go to Chicago we'll see if there's any concerts in Hammond! The Casino part is huge, but I couldn't be bothered with Casino's, so I'm no help there.

I recently visited the Horseshoe Casino in Indiana and I must say it was very interesting and fun. The staff were very friendly and the casino boat was amazing. With 4 levels of gaming and tons of slot machines, I enjoyed the three days I was there. I would go again because it was so much fun. The hotel was just wonderful. The only thing I did not like was the distance from the hotel to the casino. What a walk but it is beautiful there. Can't wait to go again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed yourself at The Venue. Horseshoe believes that this room has one of the best sound systems and acoustics in all of Chicagoland. We will also pass along your feedback on the fist 15 rows to our Entertainment Department. We hope to see you at another show soon!

I've attending many concerts at the Venue and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Even in the VIP seating in the back, you can still enjoy the show with no problem. In VIP they served really great appetizers and free drinks, so worth the extra if you can afford it.

I read the three other revies on this venue and they're all accurate. I too appreciated the fact that the building is non smoking, and it is a large building. I also liked the huge, multi level parking garage that is free. There are banks of elevators that take you from there to the casino floor, also huge, and then up a large escalator to the restaurant (a huge buffet) and to the venue where the shows are. Lining the walls are pics of many world famous acts that have perfomed through the years. The one that we were there to see was the Moody Blues, also having played there in 2009. We had good seats, top balcony, front row, and it was a treat to have no one in front of me. To my great surprise, this performance wasn't sold out, or a lot of people didn't show up. The sound system was good, not too loud, and the seats were individual cushioned stadium seats with cup holders. They also have private suites that probably go for a lot more. I peeked into one and the seating in those is bar style with backed stools. The casino in general is a little dated, I'm sure luxurious when it was new, but is kept up nicely. I was spoiled by seeing a top notch casino, Soaring Eagle, that is Vegas strip style posh. And, their concert venue is unbelievable (separate review).
