I visited the winery twice within 2 weeks to purchase xmas gifts. Each time I paid for a tasting. While I was able to taste, I had to ask and ask questions about the wine, the grapes, the labels anything I wanted to know. 2 different sales people basically poured a small sample and walked away from me. I have been to many wineries and this is the only one where I learned so little about the wine and winery. I was very disappointed, especially since I heard other groups getting the information.

We had seen the winery from I-70 and decided to stop in. There parking is limited next to the winery; however they own another lot next door where they hold outside events in warmer weather. We discovered on entering that they also rent parts of the building for weddings and wedding receptions which are held upstairs. The small lobby is filled with interesting facts about wine. To the left is the wine store. Wine tastings coast a few small bucks, but it offers a range of wines they are promoting. We prefer dry wines so eth selection is more limited than if you prefer sweeter wines. They were busy the day we were in. They gave a brief education on tasting wines such as sight, swirl, swish, swallow. The pours were generous enough for the tasting that the wife and I could share sips and compare notes. Afterwards we each bought a glass and enjoyed sipping in their quaint sitting area consisting of small tables and a couch. This also overflows to the outside in warmer weather. The dry wines we tasted were not super, but the merlot was not bad for the bottle price. If we are passing this way again we may stop to try a different selection again or just enjoy a glass in their sitting area.

They have excellent wine! Sometimes the service is fabulous, and sometimes it's ok. :-) The first time we were there the lady was awesome! The second she was ok. Pleasant but didn't interact with us much. They have a great selection of wines! I love their wine racks as well!

They have an excellent selection of wine. Also have wine tasting. On Friday evenings during the summer (starting 5/30/14 this year) they have free concerts on the veranda. Bring your lawn chairs or grab one provided by the winery; buy a bottle of wine; and, listen to the live music. They also have food for purchase. You can find me and my wife there most Friday evenings.

I've only tasted their wine at the Indiana wine festival, I have yet to visit their winery, but I want to. Their wines are quite good to me, I prefer a lightly sweet wine chilled.

Stopped at Chateau Thomas to try their wines. The tasting room is large with plenty of counter space to stand and taste. Staff friendly and helpful. They had a man playing and singing. They charge $5 for trying 5 wines. A very nice selection of wine and bar items in the gift shop area for purchase. Follow the signs when you get off I-70. It is only about 3 minutes away.

Their wine is just part of the attraction. For something completely different, good wine, dinner and dancing. Bring your own chairs for fun outdoors, dancing wine and very good music spanning the range of tastes. All at a very reasonable price. Their buffet is always well done too but call to see what they offer times and such first.

I am a Virginia wine snob that is used to visiting wineries that are out in the sticks with vineyards on premises. Chateau Thomas is very unique as it is a winery that is tucked into a suburb of a city! While there are no grape vines on premise, they have ample supply for tastings to enjoy and buy!!

The annual turkey tasting is a pretty cool event at Chateau Thomas. The object is to try different wines with different foods, and this event almost accomplishes this... The food is good and plentiful, but the wine (while mostly good) is very sparse. They are steadfast in the fact that you will get a 3oz pour (max) per course. You can purchase a full serving/glass for $5, if you want more than a few sips to go with any full course. There were two great wines, two mediocre, but a few great servings of turkey and some awesome sides. You sit with a table of people you don't know (in the beginning) and gradually get to know them through the three hours. Great for people that want to do something different. (Not that I want a ton of wine with each tasting, but 3oz is a really soft pour for a full course of a meal.)

I visited with my husband and another couple, the first time for this business. This was our third stop on our recent winery stops.I enjoyed looking at all the bar/wine-related items in their store. It'd be a good place to purchase a gift for family, friends, or myself. As we did at another winery, hubby and I shared our samples so we'd each get to try all the samples. The samples we had this day weren't very generous in pours, so we had less to make our decisions of whether we really liked something or not. He let me have the majority of a sample if I had selected that one to try while I let him have the majority of the ones he chose. I was thrilled to find they had Slender wines. I liked the red and the white. There was one or two other items I'd like to purchase on a future visit. Our friends purchased one bottle. I purchased a bottle of the Slender White, as hubby and I had purchased bottles of red wines at a couple of other wineries. Not bad for just getting into wines.

We were traveling through the area, stopped for lunch and decided to stop at Chateay Thomas Winery located across the street. The server was very helpful and pleasant. We tried a sampling and selected 3 bottles to take along on our trip. Two of the bottles are in mini jugs, which are quite a conversation piece. We enjoy stopping at wineries and this one was average. They have a nice variety of dry to sweet wines.

We used to go to the Chateau Thomas Winery 3-4 times per year during the summer to enjoy their Music on the Veranda. The event is free and you (meaning adults) used to be able to enjoy wine and great food that was catered by the winery while sitting on the lawn. However, they have completely changed the atmosphere and what used to be an enjoyable night out is anything but. Now patrons bring their small children who want to run all over the place as well as their barking dogs. You can no longer enjoy the music because you can't hear it over the loud children and barking dogs. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and kids, but a winery is no place for either. The site of the music has been moved to their parking lot and is no longer held on the lawn (an accident waiting to happen with small children running around). We decided to give them one more try a couple of weekends ago and in addition to all of the annoyances I mentioned above, they decided to use an independent food truck for the evening's food. We paid almost $15.00 for 4 pieces of coconut shrimp, a tiny salad and a piece of bread. Very disappointing. Unless things change, it is not likely we will be back to visit this winery, at least not for their Music on the Veranda. I would have left this feed back on their website but you cannot even use the "Contact Us" feature.

We were traveling and popped in about 15 minutes before closing. The server said not to worry and did we want to do a tasting. I was curious about there skinny wine. We enjoyed a quick tasting and allowed this nice person to close up!

The wine is very good and affordable and every Friday night they have live music outside the chateau where you can sit and enjoy the evening while tasting the fruits of the vine. Very family friendly. They have beautiful gifts to sell, and did I mention I like how close it is to everything. You don't have to drive if you stay in one of the nearby hotels.
