This old historic home located in a public park is worth the stop if you are in the area and want to educate yourself about local history.You are able to stand on the front porch and peer inside the windows of the home to see some information panels ...unfortunately the door was locked and no hours were posted. New to Lawrence but not to NE KS we are learning more each day as we are tourists in our own backyard about Quantrill's raid and the sacking and Burning of Lawrence. It seems with each bit of information we learn we are hungry to learn more. We only wish there would have been a sign to let us know how we could get in to see the exhibits inside. Surrounding Hobbs Park is worth exploring and checking out the huge mural on the nearby stadium as well.
