kate's bait

When we visited Gov. Dodge State Park, we discovered a place right down the road called Kate's Bait. I was told she just opened up in October and is open all year around. If you need firewood, THIS is the place to go. You can get the same firewood at the State park, but she will throw in some starter wood for you as well. She also has logs that burn nice for the campfire. They last a long time and only $5.00 a crate! Besides the great deals we discovered there, her and her father are super nice to talk with. All three of our guys enjoyed some hunting stories from Kate's Dad. They have boat rentals too. We rented a canoe and loved it. They have clothing,groceries,live bait etc... whatever you need. It's a nice little convenient store if you happened to forget something when you go camping. They also sell fishing licenses, which works out nice if you didn't get a chance to buy one before you left to go camping. AND they are right down the road from the State park(2 miles north or 1 mile south).
