A great place to walk or bike. Lots of geocaches along the route as well. Great stops along the way and trail is well taken care of.
A nice level old railroad bed turned into a path. Nice scenery but it can be busy. Keep an eye out for bikes. Great place for a dog walk!
We enjoyed the diversity along the trail- woods, corn fields, bridges, tunnels, marsh areas, lakes, towns. A wonderful trail to enjoy nature and listen (and watch) birds. Rode from Lake Mills to Deerfield. Pretty towns. :-)
We rode the Glacial Drumlin from Lake Mills to Cottage Grove, had lunch, and then biked back. It was about 30 miles round trip. It surprised us how nice it was. Lots of shady sections, firmly packed trail most of the way. There is a stretch just west of Lake Mills where you ride through an open beautiful wetlands area that was gorgeous. It was quiet, beautiful, not crowded. We have ridden many state bike trails and this was a real find.
Started in Lake Mills and headed to Cottage Grove. Very nice streach of the trail. Road through wooded parts and the marsh. Very well taken care of.
This is a nice section of the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. I rode it from CG to Deerfield. Nicely groomed and flat. Nice for a family run or just solo!
If you are looking for a long run, bike ride or try some geocaching, this trail has it all. It makes stops thru a number of smaller towns where you can get a beverage or maybe some food. We use this trail often for training on our 1/2 marathons, etc. The trail runs from Waukesha to Madison. Someday we hope to ride the full trail, stay overnite in Madison and ride back. Very pretty in the Fall time too.
This DNR managed rail trail was adjacent to Topel's Campground where we stayed for two weeks. All in all, a wonderful place to walk our two Great Danes. The trail runs through marshland, woods, along Rock Lake, through a couple of county parks, and right into Lake Mills. There are restrooms in the county parks and at several stops along the route, as well as places to get drinking water. They even have trashcans and dog waste bags.
This is only the 4th bike trail we have visited but its our new favorite. Smooth easy ride. And beautiful scenery!
Wonderful trail, well manicured and a really neat way to see the small farm towns in this area. Beautiful, stop in Lake Mills to eat (avoid Carps its not good)
