This Farm has a beautiful gift shop, café and petting zoo! What a fun find along 151 east of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. We had fun seeing the goats, buying some of the best-rated cheese in the world and checking out the café. The farm to table philosophy is strong here and the farm is clean and neat. Loved this place.

We stopped in at LaClare Farms for lunch on our way to High Cliff. Very nice and new retail shop and café. The BLT with egg very good and my wife enjoyed her grilled cheese with bacon. Shoestring fries were cooked nice and crisp. Enjoyed looking over the goat farm and feeding the baby goats. They milk the goats each day at 4:30 PM,

LaClare Farms is a special treat to visit. They are a working Goat farm and produce some of the finest Goat Milk Cheese I have ever tasted... The thing is, I don't believe I ever had Goat Cheese before sampling some of LaClare's creations. Now, every time I'm in the area I must stop and pick some up because I'm hooked. It's that good. I still like Cow Milk Fresh Cheese curds better, but the the hard cheeses LaClare produces are tops!!! While there, also check out the baby goats. They are fun to watch. My wife and I have had lunch in their Cafe a couple of times and think it is great. Everything we have had was outstanding and the presentation on the plates are amazing. You will not be disappointed.

LaClare Farms is family owned and only began in 2013. The farm owns over 400 goats, most of which are on site. They use the goat milk to make cheese, soap, milk, and other goat products. They partner with locals for the food sold in their restaurant/cafe on location, and they trade their excess goat milk and goats with the locals, as well. On site, you can view the goats and the lamas (goat protection). They offer daily viewing of goat milking behind glass at 4:30pm. They also offer a beer and cheese pairing every other Saturday at 3:00. It's a good idea to call beforehand. When you visit, you can ask for a tour, although this is not set up as a 'tour' - you just have to ask since this business is so new. You can sit inside or outside and eat from the restaurant menu, or you can just try the different cheeses and beers/wines. 17 of the cheese sold their are made by the daughter of the family, the Cheese Master. One of these cheese (Avelon?) is globally award winning. They offer other wisconsin cheeses in addition to many different types of Wisconsin beer. As they are so new, it is a more homey feeling than a commercialized feeling. They are looking into making Apple Butter spreads, other spreads, and having a petting zoo, although this is not currently available. The staff is very nice and helpful, and there were many locals there for lunch/dinner. Most of them hung out to watch the milking of the goats. Plus, there are usually baby goats on site. The ones when we were there were only 3 days old and adorable! As time goes on, this location will have more to offer. But as it is, I would recommend to stop by, learn about goats, and relax in the sun with good Wisconsin beer and cheese.
