Cassel Vineyards of Hershey is a charming little vineyard located close by the Hershey attractions. It is a wonderful quiet break from the park during a Hershey vacation. Wine Tastings are very reasonable and the owners and staff are very friendly. It is worth a visit if you are in the Hershey area.
Cassel Vineyards was a real pleasure to visit. One of the brothers, Chris, which I have posted a photo of, was very welcoming. He showed us how his delicious wine is made, gave us samples of his award winning wines and encouraged us to enjoy their beautiful family owned vineyards. Thanks!MsConnectMsConnect Global
This is a family owned, two brothers and their wives, vineyard. It is in the middle of a horse farm and the horses love to come over by the fence to check out all the visitors. They have a variety of wines, sweet to dry and they are all pretty good. The owners are friendly and helpful. They have music on the weekends as well as various food trucks if you are hungry. Every year they host a military band with proceeds going to a veteran organization, this year the wounded warriors project. This is a place you have to stop by and visit.
We had a good visit here. The server was pleasant and helpful. The wines were very good. Enjoy our visit here and will visit again
When you walk into Cassel Vineyards you may notice all the things in my title. This is a very nice family run operation. Their passion for making good wine is as evident as in the love of their horses and the people that come into the vineyard. What a nice feeling to be welcome and enjoy the nice atmosphere. Don't miss a visit to this upstart Winery and the wonderful setting it is in. Enjoy and continued success for the Cassel Family!
Great wine by a great family, in a great place to visit. It is on your way to or from Hershey PA via route 39. The selection of wines in central PA have been growing over the past 10 years. Cassel's selection is very worth tasting!
We participated in the Hershey/Harrisburg Cornucopia of Wine event and thought we were going to miss visiting Cassel as they are only opened on Saturday. Fortunately we were able to just make it before closing and thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with the owners, wine tasting and overall experience. Everyone could not have been nicer but more importantly the wine was really good (I found through many tastings that I didn't like a lot of Pennsylvania's wine but really liked Cassel). We bought several bottles and will probably visit again to buy more (we live about 10 miles outside Phila.). We even bought some stemless wineglasses to remind us of our tour. Definitely stop by Cassel if ever in the Hershey area. Thanks Cassel.
This winery is a family affair. Although the vines are only a few years old, the property has been in the family for years. Sit outside and enjoy a glass of red or white while being greeted by horses. We prefer the reds but as with any vineyard, every one has their favorite. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend. The only downside is there are no tables inside. There is a tasting bar but if it starts raining outside there is no place to sit to enjoy your wine inside. If you stand at the bar you block future customers from tasting. The owners are very friendly and willing to answer any questions.
I was excited to see a winery in the area, but when I walked into the small taste testing room with no chairs and no decor. It gave me the feeling of being uninviting and not really promoting their wines. I received no real background interactions from the staff about their wines when tasting. The only nice thing they did do was offer my daughter a small glass of grape juice.
The vineyard offers samples of five wines for $3, and there were tables out back where other guests were enjoying a bottle. It was a nice detour away from everything chocolate.
I live in Missouri and the wine here is tops! So many different wines and vey knowledgeable staff. Nice place to sit outside and fun activities every month. The owners are so warm and inviting. This is the place to be away from the tourists! Open Thursday thru Saturday.
The Cassel family makes you feel at home in their winery. The view of the vines and horses in the fresh country air create a terrific atmosphere for tasting the Cassel wines. We love the Chambourcin and Finish Line Red but there is something for everyone's taste here. Come on Friday nights in the summer and bring your chair and some snacks to enjoy local musicians for Jazz in the Vineyard. This family of teachers really knows what they are doing. Nominal tasting fee is worth it.
Wine is excellent and the setting is nice. Tasting room is very rustic and I do like the fact that you can see into their production area. I hoped to go on a slow day to maybe get a look at the process, but there we too many customers there....cheers
My husband and I visited this winery with a few friends as part of a Hershey/Harrisburg Wine Trail event in October. The wines we tasted were pretty good and we bought a few bottles. The tasting room seemed to be in their production barn, which is fine because I'm not one to really put much emphasis on looks as much the actual taste of the wine. We'll be back and I would definitely recommend this place to people who are visiting the area.
