Uncle John's is a great place to bring your family or friends. I enjoy the winery most of all. The cider and donuts can't be beat.
This place has been around for some years and is a great day trip for families. They have great cider and donuts. The staff is friendly and their facilities nice -- bathrooms, ample parking. You can buy apples and pumpkins in the fall and watch how they make cider.
I have been going to Uncle John's Cider Mill since I was a little girl. They have the BEST Cider and Donuts out there. My youngest loves all the activities they have for kids and always asks to go. My favorite stop is the wine shop, they have something for everyone no matter what your wine preference is.
We visited this cider mill early on a rainy, cold Friday morning. The staff was very friendly. There were many different activities which offer something for everyone - free wine tasting, pie shop, donuts and cider for purchase and multiple gift shops. The outdoor attractions were closed due to the time of year we visited, but I still recommend this stop on a family or business trip. Easy to access from the highway.
We love going as a family. We have also held a team building session there for our office. There is a variety of activities, it is very pretty, and good food. Love the doughnuts and cider!
Beautiful setting and still fun to visit even though I live close by. Very commercial endeavor, which I enjoy! To top off the apple and food venues there is usually some other even such as flea market and craft shows, specialty air craft and other activities. Even though lines may be long on busy days, the lines really move fast and people are very friendly. It is great to see family operations thrive.
This is a great place to go for any age, Great fresh donuts & pies! Lots of things to do for everyone!
went to get cider and donuts the cider was ok not the best but the donuts where a big disapointment no cider donuts other kinds there seemed liked boxed type you get at your local store but way over priced went down the road and got real cider fried donuts and much better cider and much cheaper they just got to big also tried the hard cider all tasted the same and real expense
I like going in the fall - they have something going on almost every weekend. I will go back every year in the fall - love watching them make the cider and the smell of the donuts. Fresh cider, fudge, gift shops - nice grounds for walking around. We usually go during the time of the festival weekend when they have lots of things for the kids to do. They also have vendors on hand for other food items, as well as vendors selling their wares of many varieties.
Uncle John's has all the normal things you'd expect at a cider mill and a lot more. Yes, you can pick and buy a wide variety of eating and cooking apples; drink and buy fresh cider'; and enjoy home made apple pies, and doughnuts. But there a lot more: gift shops with lots to look at (including anything apple related);safe attractions and many play areas for the kids, (kids will love the train). There is a new event or activity every weekend. For adults there is wine tasting, hard cider, apple brandy, and lunch. Parking is easy and well organized. And there is no entry fee. Small drawback is that, as you can imagine, Uncle John's is often crowded on nice weekends and you may need to wait in line for a while for activities food and bathrooms. (Just saying.)Great family fun.
This is a wonderful place. When apples are picked you can watch them make cider. You can get freshed backed bread, donuts and pies. You can also get many other fresh fruit and veg.
Weekends are filled with lots of things for everyone to see and do. Entertainment on weekends. Minimal cost on activities. For a quiet less busy experience stop by during the week.
Whenever we come here, it feels just like home. The people are super friendly here. The apple cider is amazing and the donuts are great. You can order other things besides donuts. If you're there to get pumpkins, they have nice size pumpkins. The prices aren't too bad, very reasonable. The mill has a very down home feel to it. If you stop in St. Johns, be sure to come stop.
We always look forward to our stop at Uncle John's On our way up north and enjoy the cherry chicken sandwich on dill bread. We were very disappointed with the new wrap without cherries. The wrap fell apart and was very messy. Why change a good thing? We might have to move on and eat at Panara Bread in Mount PJoan and Pat from Pinckney
Uncle John's offers several recreational options: a play area with jumping pillow for kids, a corn maze, inflatables, a pumpkin patch, and other seasonal or special temporary options, for example, they once had a monster truck ride. Other times it has craft and other shows. It also offers delicious apple, pumpkin, and cider doughnuts and fresh apple cider. You can see the cider mill at work. And finally, it's got a bakery and a winery that offers wine tasting. It's free to get in, but you can end up spending a pretty penny on the rides, doughnuts, etc., especially with multiple kids. But it's a nice place to be outdoors with the family, especially if you have young children.
