For some reason, she insisted I come stand with a couple I didn't know so she could "explain everything at the same time". I said I wanted to finish shopping before I tasted the wine and already knew what I wanted to try. She then started out by explaining that the piece of paper she had put on the bar face up was the front of the paper. Really?! I had already done my research on their website so I flipped it over and circled the 5 fruit wines I wanted to try. Their (outdated) website said they have strawberry wine, but they didn't. I specifically said I wanted a tiny sip and even pointed out the level on the glass. She instead wasted a bunch by pouring 4x what I wanted so I had to dump it out after my sip. She explained that the pineapples aren't grown in MI. I'm from Hawaii so thought that was amusing. She again over poured my next choice so I had to dump that out too. Didn't like either of those tastes--too sour and dry, not what you typically get with fruit wines. During this time, she has been flitting about, trying to find 2 stools for the other couple, then talking to someone in another room. When she wandered off mumbling about needing to "get their cheese", I finally told my husband I was done and we left. I've been on 2 MI winery tours and visited a lot of wineries across the state and this is definitely not one I would recommend or return to.

We cannot wait to go back! Beautiful place, very helpful staff when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Great little patio out back to relax and enjoy a glass of wine!Every wine we tried was delicious! $5 for a tasting of 5...very hard to choose!

They have delicious wines in many varieties including dessert wines. Their raspberry wine and their Cayuga White are my favs!! Super friendly owners with great service and fun tastings. A must visit place!

Decent wines with a really interesting story behind them. Spend a little time talking with the wine-making owners. The wines might be a little pricey, but they are interesting and you can even do some mixing of your own under your own label.

We stopped in to the winery while out running errands one day and were delighted with the various wines we tasted. The staff was very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Previously I had been there for private tastings which is also a fun thing to do.

Did the Pioneer Wine Trail tour which includes 8 wineries. Have been to Burgdorf's before and always enjoy tasting and buying their wines. They have a lovely place with a beautiful back deck to sit enjoy the wine. Their wines I consider some of the best in Michigan for my taste.

The winery is a section of their house. Summer hours are longer than winter hours. They have barrels at the end of the driveway that say OPEN so you can see them at the road. You can try a few wines before you buy. They also have wine making "classes" and you make wine at the winery. I like the Morado and Blackberry wines.

The winery produces about 20 wines, some very good, all good. Different people prefer different wines, so I won't pass judgement on all. I have my favorites! They are on the high end of moderately priced. The host who does the tasting is funny and very amicable. You pay $5 but that comes off the price of a bottle of wine. Very easy to get to just out of Haslett + there's a nursery/greenhouse next door. 2 for 1 stop! This is my second time here and I brought friends both times who really enjoyed it.

We knew it was nearby, but my wife and I finally paid our first visit to Burgdorf's Winery in Haslett on a Saturday. We each tasted 10 different wines. She chose reds and I chose whites. We discovered we don't have to go all the way to Paw Paw, Traverse City, Virginia, California, Kentucky or Tennessee for a flavorful and favorable wine-tasting. It's just 8 miles from where we live. Deb and Dave Burgdorf treated us like neighbors in a relaxing, informal setting. We ended up buying an assortment of delightful wines, enough to fill a case. And, we're going back for sure, and we'll probably bring friends or family with us.

This winery is fairly small. The owner provided us with a very informative tasting and was enthusiastic about his wine. The shoppe has very cute and unique ideas for home decorations or as gifts. A few of the fruit wines were delicious, and the raspberry wine is my favorite. Nice little place.

I was in town (Lansing) for an extended weekend and wanted to find things to do. After some research i found this cute little winery about 20 minutes away. It wasnt what i was use to as far as size goes but the experience was still delightful. The staff were nice & friendly. The wine was tasty and the gift shop offered lots of one of a kind wine trinkets. The actual tasting was only $3 per person to taste 6 different kinds and if you purchased a bottle the fee was waived. I would definitely recommend this place to any one passing thru the area. It was a great afternoon date.

I spent a few hours there doing a wine tasting. The staff was very nice and super helpful. All the wines are made from fruit, not grapes, so the wines have a unique flavor. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon! I would definitely recommend it.

We read about Burgdorf's Winery in the Detroit News some time ago, and finally had an opportunity to visit. Small, family-run winery about 20 minutes outside of Michigan State University's campus. Deb (wife) opened up an hour early to accommodate our travel schedule and gave us a personalized tour of the grounds, the grape crushing equipment, the storing facility, the packaging and labeling area, and her microbiology lab where she perfects their work. Dave (husband) spent several hours with us, first walking us through how to taste and evaluate wine, offering suggestions on ways to interact with winery owners/tasting hosts in order to promote a positive tasting experience, and pouring our wine samples. From over 25 wines, you can select 6 to taste for $3; fee is waived if a purchase is made, which is easy to do! My husband and I each selected 6, and shared our samples so that we could try more wines. For a small winery, the variety and the quality of the wine is excellent. We enjoyed them all, preferred some over others, bought half a case (six different wines) with ease, and will recall the afternoon fondly as we drink/share our selections. The tasting room has a delightful gift area, and we picked up some interesting items there as well. Grapes/fruit are from Michigan; their Spartan White wine comes from three grapes grown right on Michigan State University campus. A wonderful afternoon, terrific and generous hosts, and a great way to support our Michigan economy.

We used this winery during our wedding preparations. They have an option where you can help to make your own wine in large batches and then bottle it up to use as favors. We thought this would be a cool thing to do with our parents. The process itself was fairly organized, and pricing seemed fair...though nothing to compare it to in area so don't have any value points. The female owner, however, was always very rude to us for some reason and not very informative or helpful. The male owner was decent but not around for most of the time when we were there. Thought it might be a fluke, but we were there on three separate occassions and each time she was quite rude and condescending. Not cool as we dropped about $500 on wine.....
