We took our 3 and 5 yr olds here and they had a blast! There is a lot to keep them busy with the rock wall, pool, lily pads, splash area, slides, lazy river and surfing. I appreciated that they had life jackets onsite so you don't have to bring your own. Plenty of towels, nice locker rooms. There were a lot of people there so it was a little hard to get a chair but didn't feel too crowded in the pool itself.

great place for grandkids, not much for the older traveler. I don't think I will return. The restaurant at the water park is not very good for the price.

We stayed here for wrestling regionals with a large group. Check in was slow, and the water park was not very big. My kids had fun until someone aspirated water and threw up a little bit.. they shut down the two water slides and lazy river for the rest of the day (leaving on hot tubs and pools) and did nothing to comp us for the inconvenience. Also the package we had included a fry bread pizza which is disgusting.. I am native, I love fry bread, and that was just one big flour mess that didnt taste like pizza or fry bread. I will go there again because it is convenient for regionals, but it is not a great value.

My husband, son and grandsons stayed there for two days during this past week of New Years. The rooms were clean, beds/pillows comfy, which is very important to me as I have lost many a nights sleep due to horrible beds. Our issues with the rooms were number one the hot water barely made it to warm so showers and baths were cold. There was a lot of cold air by the sliding door even with the curtains drawn and the heat was hard to regulate. We turned the thermostat to 82 just to be comfortable then when you set it at anything less it seemed to blow cold air. The waterpark itself is decent, plenty of towels available (even though the hotel was fully booked) although it doesn't offer as much in terms of slides as Kalahari or great wolf so older kids and adults may get bored quickly. My 4 year old grandson was very excited about Nakomis and hearing stories but it was disappointing that she only told one story. We didn't eat there or use room service or go to the arcade so I can't really comment on those things. Check in took an hour in line as the hotel was booked. They had 3 clerks who were pleasant and doing the best they could considering the negativity from those waiting in line. People need to be a bit more understanding and realistic with there expectations in situations, in my opinion. I would recommend calling to check on availability as every time I tried it online it said they were full but they weren't when I called. So I'm not sure what is up with the online booking. I would go there again.

The waterpark was on the small side, all of it was indoorsBut, it did have two lengthy water-slides an a areato attempt surf boarding.

We took our 11 year old grandson there for a visit there this summer. We didn't stay at the waterpark, we just got a day pass. While it would keep a younger child interested, we found that after a couple of hours our grandson thought it was okay to leave. It is very clean the staff is good. Has a couple of good slides, but there is no wave pool. If you have younger children they would certainly enjoy it.

The rooms are dirty, the coffee pot was filthy, and there were bugs in the bed! I did not like ANYTHING about the place.

The hotel was ok. Nice rooms, at least ours was, we had a King room. It was decent clean, nice bathroom! We were with another couple that had adjoinging rooms which was nice of them to do! There room was ready when we checked in later that day. We felt it should have been, they had until 4:30pm! Took another half hour or so. It was very crowded as it should be since it is kid friendly and has a waterpark! Kids were loud, had to call at midnight so we could sleep! Paper thin walls, floors and ceiling! Otherwise, we had a decent time. Not WOW but ok!

The water park has a great variety of activities. Felt like summer in the middle of winter. Very clean.

Arrived at 3pm. Stood in line for front desk 20 mins. (very small front desk for hotel of that size) to check in, just tobe told no one gets room keys before 4 pm. We came back to wait in line again an hour later to get our key to our room. the guy ahead of us was told his room was not done yet and this was around 5 pm. Our room was great, no complaints. Later that night we made 5 attemts for room service. Each time phone just rang and leave message for call back. Called front desk then, they said they were booked up and very busy and keep calling room service. Took two more times to place our order. While placing the order it hard to communicate because he was arguing with someone in the back ground. When the food arrived, we were missing the fruit cup. They promised to bring the fruit cup and never showed back up. the room book only has the late night menu, no breakfast or dinner menu. I had to call front desk to find out if they had express check out. Very disappointed in this place. Will not be back!

I was quite impressed with the facility. While not large, it was good for a one night stay, especially since they let you continue to use the waterpark after your 11 am checkout for that day. It's a bit awkward with logistics of what to do with your winter gear, but we worked it out and were able to stay for the extra few hours we wanted to. The hotel room we had was beautiful. Took us a bit to figure out the thermostat in the room, but once we did it was nice and warm. Also, there are in-room safes for leaving valuables - very nice as long as you have the room. Pizza at their restaurant was "okay", but we really enjoyed their onion straw appetizer. Overall, recommend.

We've been to avalanche bay in Boyne Falls and Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City and both offer more for toddlers and baby's. This waterpark has virtually nothing for baby's, no zero entrance pools, in fact nothing under 3 ft. of water at all. We have a 3 and 1 year old and the one year basically could only run around the open area and sit on lazy river rides with us, there was one smaller slide she enjoyed. Even for 3 years old, there are the slides in the middle of the park, but no pool that's really designed for younger kids like ours. I would say this is overall an OK waterpark for this area, if you're willing to travel away from mid Michigan and want something bigger and better I would recommend going to Avalanche Bay or Great Wolf Lodge.

First, let me say the hotel room was great....clean, new, and comfortable. If you want a later check out, though, call way ahead because they "run out" of late check outs. The water park on the other hand was pathetic. If you have ever been to Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahari, Avalanche Bay or Splash Village, you will be greatly disappointed!!!!! This place is TINY compared to those parks. We walked in and looked around wondering where the rest of the park was....there wasn't a rest of the park. The lifeguards brag how they are the only park in Michigan with no drownings. Well, that's great to hear, but the lifeguards are so nagging and picky about every little thing and there are so many of them that you can't get away from them. If you have kids around 44", they are constantly telling them to get measured. (They have to wear a life jacket even if they are in your arms.) And if your child is an 1/8 of an inch away from the 48" mark, they still won't let them do the rock wall or 2 big slides. Either take your really tiny kids when they are small enough not to realize they can't do stuff, or take your taller kids so they don't get hassled. Of course, once they are bigger they would probably find this place boring. Don't plan on putting your hands in the spraying water by the hot tub because you will get yelled at. I saw it happen more than once to more than one kid by more than one lifeguard. Maybe they are afraid they will get wet. I would hate to have to see one of them actually need to get in the water to save someone. The only 2 lifeguards that actually seemed to enjoy kids and their jobs were the 2 at the flow rider surfing attraction. Lindsey and an older gentleman with glasses (didn't catch his name) were so patient and helpful with the kids. Don't plan on bringing canned pop into the water area. They claim that the aluminum does something to their chlorine. Hmmmmmm the hotel pool was full of people with aluminum beer cans. The play structure outside is nice for small kids, but their are no benches for parents to sit on while their kids play. The fire pit was broken when we were there. There are no cookies and milk when the mechanical lady tells her story at 8:00 at night each night like the website says. And all the kids were bored with the story...half of them left half way through. It's only 10 minutes anyways. If I needed a hotel in the area, I would stay there but not bother with the water park. Save your money and take your kids elsewhere....they will thank you.

This waterpark is not as big as Great Wolf Lodge, my kids favorite, but it's not as yucky as some of the smaller, hotel based ones out there. My son is a bit shy of the the 52" required to ride the big slides, even with an adult, so he wasn't happy, but there was plenty of other stuff to do. This waterpark seems to be more action oriented than great wolf....there's a climbing wall, a surfing attraction. It is very clean and well kept. We grabbed a King Suite, so there were two rooms, with a bar/kitchenette, a pull out sofa and a huge bathroom. Loved it, well worth the extra $50 bucks we paid for it. They have a "story time" similar to great wolf, where they go listen to an animated native american elderly woman tell stories (my kids were bummed they missed it). It's not as chaotic as great wolf either maybe, with everyone running around in the hallways playing magi-quest...they don't have that. But that's maybe a good thing....my kids always want to play and I'm going broke! lots of places to eat around there, so you don't have to choose the buffet or dining options on site. Checkout was at 11, but you can usually get a 12 checkout at no extra charge, or a 1:00 check out for $20 more. We had a great time and will def. go back. This was a clean, lovely property. My kids loved it.
