Beautiful original covered bridge, with signs to explain how the little town came to be. The fact you can drive across it still, being well over 100 years old is amazing and shows how it has stood the test of time!! Great picnic area also, even though we were there with 2 feet of snow on the ground, we will go back for a visit!!!
I love the history. Good place to go for a picnic, fishing, take the kids to play at the park. Lots of place for photo's. Can also kayak, canoe down the river. Peaceful.
We live nearby but seriously how many covered bridges can you drive over and walk over and see the old town. (East of the bridge) the historical value of this bridge is incredible. The original bridge only cost $1,500 :)
The park and bridge are very scenic, particularly in the middle of October when the trees change color. If you are planning a "fall color tour", put this place on your list. There is a parking area near the bridge on the West side where you can launch canoes or kayaks. Be sure to bring your camera.
This is a nice get-away for a family picnic, some tubing, and if you like fishing in a river, awesome. Nice play areas for the kids, nice secluded picnic areas for couples or familys. It is a very large park with lots of room. Great place too for family photos, senior photos, or just to have a game of frisbee football. The smallmouth bass fishing in the Flat River is very good as well and the river is very wadable.
So many options for a quick family getaway. Theres a river running through the park. All areas are well maintained and the community has several events throughout the summer and fall :)
The Frisbee course is awesome. The park is well maintained and has plenty of beautiful features. There is a nice large playground.
Spending a nice Fall Weekend in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan is an ideal time to venture a little further East from the city and enjoy the scenic drive out to Lowell, Michigan. That is the area where Fallasburg Covered Bridge has stood the test of time, and welcomed visitors to feel a bit of history for a short, but nice change from the quick pace of busy life. The pictures you see on tripadvisor are all very nice, but we all know there is always so much more to enjoy by taking the trip yourself. The setting is pretty serene, but there seemed to be a few people arriving along, coming and going, but not heavy traffic, at least when we visited today. That is always nice, so as to have a picture taken of your party and have everyone in it. The covered bridge is very well maintained, especially considering how old it is. If you are arriving from the west of the area, then after stopping and viewing the bridge, you can then drive through to the other side (note the interesting sign above the entrance) very slowly. Drive on to visit the presence of a historic village and the days gone by.
I cannot go back to Lowell without a drive or walk through Fallasburg Park. It's a beautiful place and brings back so many great memories.
Well preserved wooden covered bridge offers a taste of the past in a wooded setting...well worth the scenic drive to enjoy this rare treat...
Quaint, great photo ops. Loved the historic village. North Country National Scenic Trail passes right nearby
Fallasburg Park & Covered Bridge are both beautiful. Near the river, boating options, and open spaces. Then cross the Covered Bridge to jump back in time.
The beautiful bridge is one of a few in the area. The park surronding it is nice with private areas for picnics along the river. Nice spot to relax, get outdoors and explore.
want a relaxing day, with a beautiful view? visit fallasburg covered bridge fish off the banks enjoy the view, and dont forget to take your picnic lunch and enjoy the park area with tables and grills
We had our wedding pictures taken here and they were beautiful. Also a great place to take kids and splash around in the creek.
