Loved the cobblers store that was inside the building, as well as the telescope. this is a hidden Gem at the west end of town.

If you're into history,ou'll enjoy your visit to the Museum. Lots of artifacts. you can also visit the Old Water Works, which is also an interesting Museum.

The information we were given was that this museum opened at 10am. We were there shortly thereafter and saw a sign on the door saying it would open at 10:45. We walked around a bit and then came back - but it didn't open until 11. Evidently the gentleman had a previous meeting. At least we were able to kill some time which included sitting on a bench outside.But once we entered, it was like taking a step back in time! So many interesting items to see with so much history!There is another floor above which offered even more items to see.This is a very interesting museum right on the main drag and well worth a visit!!

This museum show the pride of the Manistee residents. Lots of historical detail and interesting materials. Imagine my surprise when I saw my father-in-law's picture in the window display. Can't wait to go back again and explore more.

This is a great little museum. I'm so glad we stopped in. There is interesting items every place you look on all floors. The museum had a special model trains displayed throughout the first floor. I enjoyed seeing them. The people are running the place were also very helpful in pointing out some of the history of the town.

There is a lot of items in a great old storefront - There are very nice people to talk to and they are very a ton about the local history. You can take pictures of everything and the are open to people coming in and doing drawings in sketchbooks and journals. If you want learn a little something new you can find it here.

this is the stuff that history is made of. A wonderful collection that give you a complete story of the Manistee area from recorded history...including the mundane.

Stop by and browse through the history of this seaport and lumbering town. It was very interesting to read and see exhibits about our area. I did not know that we supplied most of the lumber to re-build Chicago after the great fire.

Good local museum packed to the ceiling, literally, with interesting artifacts in a town centre building that used to be a store retaining many of its original features.The building is easy to find and there is on-street parking making it easily accessible.
