our 5 hr. jeep adventure was more than we bargained for. our jeep broke down in the national forest and we were stranded for appx. 3 hrs. waiting for a replacement. to make matters worse, the owner refused to make any compensation for the problem. take your business elsewhere.

We booked the 2 day Fall Color Adventure, the trip was wonderful! We had fun from the minute we arrived until the end of the trip. You will see and do things that you could not do with a car. I was a little worried after reading the 1 review about having "rude idiots" in their group. We had a group of 5 jeeps, and all of the people in our group were great which made the trip even better. Our trail guide was great, very knowledgable and also fun to be with. We all had dinner together at the end of the first day, we got to know each other better and the next day was even more fun. The owner of Sandy Korners treated us like family, it was a great trip and we are probably going to do the Drummond Island Challege next year. I would recommend this trip to anybody, even if you have never gone off road before. If you are the type of person that wants to go blasting through the puddles (as mentioned in the other review) spin your tires to see how far you can throw mud, and not follow the trail guides instructions I sugjest you go spend $28,000 on a new Rubicon, I bet you would not find it as fun if you were the owner. But then again, some people have more money than brains

We were just up at Silver Lake, Mi this last week and we went on the Sandy Korners half day off-roading tour:) It was beautiful. They no longer go to the dunes. They said after being slammed into by dune buggies and such, they are taking a different route and I have to say, I love it:) You get your own jeep and you have a guide. There were 11 jeeps in total on our tour. It had just rained all night and all morning (our tour started at 2pm). The mudholes were enormous lakes:) A lot of ppl were really rude about how they conduct the tours. You don't get to go BLASTING through the puddles -- sure fire way to get yourself stuck or worse -- and a lot of them arent even puddles they were lakes. So we'd follow our guide through them or around them (depending on the depth) They seem to know the trails very, very well. There were plenty of mud holes that your tail pipe would gurgle and the water would come up over the bumpers. We have 3 kids (9, 6, and 4) and they had an absolute blast;) We had 2 guides. The lead guide, I THINK his name was John? And the 'caboose' as he called her -- bringing up the rear -- was Charity. They were such good fun and very knowledgable. There were some idiots in our group, I have to say. Very rude idiots but I guess when you get a group together like that, there are going to be some no matter what you do. There are 2 way radios in each Jeep and they encourage banter:) It's also how they tell you what is coming up, what to expect and what NOT TO DO:) If someone saw wildlife they'd call it out over the radio so everyone else could look for it. To us, it was well worth the money and we are looking forward to doing it again. There are many more options they offer (1 hour tours, 3 day tours, etc). I'd love to go back for one of the multi-day tours:) Really a great time:)
