We liked the Forever Young exhibit of Bob Dylan photos on the first floor and the art boutique on the second floor. However, we would have liked more information. For example, were the photos of places Dylan lived, why was John Sebastian in the photos, what music were they collaborating on, etc.? In the time period of the photos, what lyrics was Dylan writing? Where did he draw his inspiration in that period? Just some background would have added interest to the photos. We were glad we stopped in though.
Stopped in on a whim to see the Bob Dylan photography exhibit. Staff was very friendly, especially Phoenix the black cat! Even when traveling, support local arts and artists...
I love the South Haven Center for the Arts for many reasons!! The biggest reason would be the fantastic daily art classes they offer to children 4 and up! The classes are an hour long and incorporate learning and fun! My family enjoyed learning about Monet's Water Lillies and making their own masterpiece. They went back the next day to enjoy African masks, they really enjoyed all the embellishments for the masks. Julia did a fabulous job teaching both classes. (please only leave your children if they are 5, 4 year olds that were left by their parents took away from the class.)
The Art Center alternates local artist with exhibits of national known artists. It's small, but does a nice job for the size city it's in.
The South Haven Center for the Arts showcases many area artists. They host events, such as A Taste of Brazil, the 4th of July Art Fair, Mistletoe Marketplace....to name a few. They have Art classes for adults, and Center Studio during the summer offers children a chance to experiment with their artistic talents.
A small local art center, the offerings are creative, and a pleasant stop during your downtown visit.
My grandchildren have participated in the art program offered during the summer Tuesdays through Fridays. The classes last 1 hour each with the option of bringing a lunch to eat between them. The projects were fun, the price $6 each. A nice diversion for a rainy day.
We like to check out local art so stopped in. They had a nice exhibit opening that day and a really fun machine called Artomat. It is a re-purposed cigarette machine that vends art. The Artomat was worth the stop here.
Great exhibits of some local artists works. They have a wonderful Christmas Market with lots of very artistic and unusual items for purchase
