Visited this course in Aug. 2014. While headed to the 7th green the golf cart died. We called to get another cart. After 20 minutes, and still no cart, we called again and were told, "Oh, they must have forgot". We had to hide behind trees as 3 or 4 balls came blasting by us (and we were out of the way). A total of 30 minutes later, they show up with a cart. After a very weak, under his breath, quick "sorry" the guy dropped off the new cart. Now we have been passed by 4 or 5 groups. This wasn't the first thing that happened. The starter took almost 10 minutes to show up before we were allowed to tee off to a very empty course. Then, he let the group behind us, hit into us!On the 5th hole, there was a random guy just walking his dog 50 yards in front of the tee. I had to yell at him as he had headphones on. Who walks their dog on a golf course? When we get to the club house we ask for a refund for the back 9. They guy said he can't give a refund but can give a rain check. As we are leaving I realize that even though we paid $80 for two of us and a cart, he gave us the rain check for $28. I really expected that after they left us abandoned for 30 min. they would give us a full $80. But this wasn't even enough for 1 person to play 9 holes. I asked to see a manager, and none was available. I suggested he call one. After calling, and then telling us "We'll let it slide this time", we got a rain check for $40.I have golfed all over the world. I travel with my clubs. By far the worst service at any course I have ever had!!!
This used to be a pretty nice public golf course. Went through a rough time some years back and was purchased and supposedly refurbished. They've put a great face in front for sure. Unfortunately the course itself is not well maintained. Greens are long, rough and slow. Divots and ball marks aren't replaced/repaired. While it's relatively inexpensive, you may get much greater enjoyment by spending just a little more.
Just another golf course..... One of thousands in the mid west. Not an ATTRACTION. To say that it is a venue where one should plan a visit around is not the case here. It is a "golf course" in a middle class neighborhood, period. Those who say this place is fabulous, need to get out more. I live 3 miles from the course and am not a one time visitor.
First, I am not a golfer. But, I am a walker and live very near the golf course. I love walking the grounds. To me it is a lovely course. There is a Hugh club house nicely appointed for parties.
Played Shenandoah Country Club and the greens were in very nice condition. The fairways were good and mowed, but the rough was like it was a PGA Championship. I had trouble finding my ball unless I was right on top of it. There is both water and sand on the course. The workers were out in force working, but were not a hinderance. They have 3 sets of tees measuring 6493, 6060 and 5156-yards. It is a par-72 course
It was an awesome set up. The food was presented magnificently. They dealt with all of the family dynamics with grace and class. I was very impressed with the service. My brother in law was pleased so I am pleased.
My hubby was the best man in our friends wedding there and it was the most beautiful reception hall I have ever seen. Only bad part was trying to find a server to bring wine and appetizers during cocktail hour. Everyone was a little unhappy trying to find someone to bring food and drinks but the place was amazing.
WOW, what a beautiful place to celebrate the union of two beautiful young people. The staff, professional and attentive. The Bar...perfect (I like JWB rocks and they know how to pour it!). The food, excellent. Absolutely first class venue if you are looking for a hall to celebrate.
Very well maintained course. This was a Country Club at one point and is now public. Great fairways and greens. It is a "fair" course.
Should have been a tour stop. Could be streched a bit if they wanted. Nice test.
great golf, good dinner, drinks were way over priced
It is amazing and fancy. Also i like the food and the chandeliers are very fancy and the chairs are cool. :)
I have played this course several times and am always disappointed that they won't let me walk 9 holes in the afternoon. The course is OK but nothing special. I can say the food was wonderful when I attended an outing here in 2010. I golf 3-4 times a week and would never choose to golf here if it were not chosen by my friends.
I lived in the subdivision behind the country club, my backyard led up to the golf course. They don't take care of it like they used to. It's sad
