We were fortunate to have sunny skies, a nice breeze and the mosquitoes were not bad at all. I'm sorry we did not start out earlier - would have been a great place to catch the sunrise. We enjoyed the interpretive first half and the rocky second half.

Be prepared for rocky trail and mosquitoes. Keep moving & take pictures where there is a breeze because when you stop they catch up. Great view from the point.

The beginning of this hike is in Rock Harbor. It's a nice easy trail with a few interpretive signs along the way. About a mile and a quarter out the interpretive sign says that you are now on your own to find your way to Scoville Point. I got a little nervous because the I didn't want to have start trudging through marshes. But the trail continued and finished at the rocks. By the time you reach the rocks you'll know which way to go.For me this hike was very easy (with planks crossing the marshes). But I can see how some of the rocks could be tougher for some hikers. Allow yourself to take your time. I went all the way down to the water at Scoville Point. From that perspective you feel as though there's nothing left. You've reached the end of the world. It's a nice trail with good scenery and some wild berries to eat. I didn't see any wildlife, but I didn't expect it anyway. If you loop the trail you'll get to see a little bit of the Tobin Harbor area, which is different. With so much more on the island that I haven't yet seen, I'll probably use my time elsewhere in the future, but this trail is worth a visit at least once.

I've read the reviews that Scoville is an easy hike from Rock Harbor. Actually, the hike starts out easy but becomes rocky. It is not by any means an easy hike. It is a moderate hike. Lovely, but for us slow hikers, it will take a while. Bring a snack and water.

Just that, a nice hike. Both of my 74 year old parents and my 9 year old son were able to make it a couple of hours.

lots of wow factor on this hike. highly recommended! very rugged in spots though; bring good, sturdy shoes and the expensive bug spray!

We hiked as far as we could go on the Stoll Trail to Scoville Point. The Stoll trail is easy to moderate in difficulty. Unfortunately, rains flooded the last 0.2 miles of trail to ScovillePoint. Needed waders to get through. Even the Ranger Emma agreed.

Beautiful landscape, flowers and wildlife. We didn't see any moose, however, there was plenty of evidence that they were nearby!

Beautiful 4-5 mile hike to a scenic point. It was quite foggy while we were there, so the view was short but still a breathtaking experience.

My family and I loved our hike to Scoville Point on our backpacking trip in Isle Royale. On our last night in Isle Royale we stayed in Rock Harbor in order to catch the ferry to Copper Harbor the next day. We hike the 4 mile trail in the evening and it was absolutely beautiful! We didn't see moose on the trail, but heard that it is a prime moose spotting area. The hiking was pretty easy with several benches and stools to stop and take a rest or just spend time enjoying the views which were gorgeous. Didn't see any other people on the trail that evening.

The Scoville Point Trail is easy to access as it starts next to the lodge. The views are great and the hike is pretty easy. It was on this trail that my husband and I saw our moose. She was in a boggy area away from the trail at first, but ended up walking up about 10 feet from the trail. It was amazing. We were told that some of the best moose watching is actually close to the lodge as the moose realize the wolves won't go where the people are. It's a great trail; give it a try if you find yourself on Isle Royale!

This is a 4 mile round trip hike . Along a path that is rocky at times. Several signs explain plant life and geology features. Saw only 6 other people along the trailMemorable

As we hiked to Scoville Point we were able to snack on fresh wildberries along the way. The Park Rangers warn you not to remove anything from the trail except you can pick the berries. We ate raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. The sights along the trail are beautiful and the destination point does not disappoint. Fairly easy trail for all ages. Our group ranged in age from 9 - 72. Access to the trail is easy from Rock Harbor Lodge. Approx 4 miles in length round trip.
