I'm not much of a sports fan, so I hate paying $40+ per ticket to see any kind of sporting event. We love to go to Rascal's games because they are close to home (we can even walk if we want), parking is easy, the tickets are cheap, and we still get all the fun that comes with a baseball game.
You want to go to a baseball game without expending the fortune it's going to cost you to go see the Cardinals, then this is the place for you! You're right on top of the game, regardless of where you sit in the stadium. Prices for the food are amazingly reasonable, and you get so much more than you'll get in any professional venue.Safe parking, just across the road for no charge, and great entertainment! Would recommend a Rascals game for anyone who's looking to enjoy baseball without worrying about your pocketbook!
You will be right next to the action (sometimes too close) so watch out for fly balls. Great prices, free parking and hot dogs wont cost you $6.
My kids absolutely love going to Rascals games. The stadium is easy to get in and out of and the walk from the free parking lot to the stadium is short and safe with the bridge over the road. My son always seems to get a ball flipped to him during a game, and last time we went, one of the players flipped a ball to my daughter as well. She was thrilled. Players are willing to sign autographs after the game and seem very nice. The concession stand line can get long at times, but the smaller carts selling food for cash only around the park usually are quick.
Good place to go and enjoy a baseball game where the player play hard, run out every base and have a love for the game. Only down fall is the concessions as they have RC cola and Miller Beer products
Learned of this ballpark and team due to a college alumni night and happened to be visiting family in the area. Got tickets and made arrangements to meet some old friends and make new ones in the "Dog Pound"! We had a great time and would visit again. This is a nice ballpark and is easy to get in/out and the baseball is good!
If you're in O'Fallon visiting family, I highly recommend a River City Rascals game. Ticket prices are reasonable. The stadium is CLEAN and manageable size.....so much so that you can hear the crack of the ball and the bat. Seats are even a little more comfortable than big stadiums. LOVE the wind through the stadium; it must be situated perfectly for a nice breeze. Food is typical ballpark food, but prices are better than the larger venues. Wheelchair accessible. Lots of room for strollers. Parking abundant. Surrounded by nice middle-class neighborhood. Players seem more interactive than at other baseball games---maybe because the action is closer, or maybe because they actually care about their fans. Community-minded owners........they rent out the park to churches for Easter Egg Hunts. LOVE this place.
Love the Atmosphere.... The ballpark is Epic... And the Players are all Genuine and Sweet... We are coming back a few times in the 2014 season.
My family have lived in O'Fallon for 2 years and have finally got around to going to a Rascals game - I can't believe we waited so long to go! It is really a fun time for the entire family and doesn't break the bank. There is a playground for the kids if they decide they have had enough of the game, good food, cold beer and soft drinks, and very good ball play.I give the Rascals two very solid thumbs up and I look forward to taking my family to see them play for many years to come.
Never a bad seat, never a dull moment. Wish more of the community would come out and support the rascals on a consistent basis. Baseball at its purest, cheap family fun.
Love all the fun stuff to do. Reasonable tickets, safe for the kids, and a great way to spend a hot summer night. Love going here!
My only reason for rating average is that nothing stood out to make this minor league baseball unique. The stadium is average, the food prices are average (for minor league, great by major league standards), the atmosphere was a little lacking. Even the antics by the mascot and staff are average at best. The tickets are way too expensive for what you get in return. On a Wed. night you can see a major league game for what I paid at the gate. None of the players seemed interested in the fans, other minor league divisions are much more fan friendly. The more I write the more I want to change my rating to "poor" but it was not a "poor" experience. It was worth it in the end to see baseball close to home. Find some discounted tickets and get an "Arch Nemesis" burger (bun, two types of cheese, two patties, chicken breast patty, with a pickle on the side.) It is worth the wait.
Professional league prices at minor league stadium. Half the specialty things were closed, and nothing for young kids to do. They used to have a play ground and bouncy tent, but took it out for "Liability". Need to get back to being for the family.....
Minor league baseball is terrific. Seats are inexpensive and you all sit close enough to actually see the players!
