We took at carriage ride and our guide new all the history of Big Cedar and told us all about the things that we were not able to do this time so we will be back. Love the ride and the weather was cold and they brought us blankets. Perfect!
Loved seeing the grounds of Big Cedar via horse drawn carriage. The landscape is rolling and the views of the Table Rock lake are spectacular
Great ride through the woods. Excellent for kids and adults. Guides were really nice. Nice way to spend the day outside.
Would have gotten an excellent rating if their camera worked and they had the hat my daughter wanted. As it turned out we were able to pick up the hat then next day and the wrangler knocked a few bucks off of the package for the camera malfunction. The wrangler was great wtih the kids
We stayed here for our anniversary and took s carriage ride around to see the lights and it was wonderful. Very friendly guides and a super nice ride around the grounds. We loved it!
great hourses well maintained, service is great. I recently returned from a family trip at Big Cedar Lodge . I'd never even heard of the Ozarks before going, and had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The grounds were wonderfully maintained
We wandered into the barn to check the place out and a guy came up and introduced himself and offered to take our kids over to pet the horses. He was so good with them and answered their questions and happy to make our vacation more pleasant, just because. This is just one of many examples of great service at Big Cedar!
We vacation here twice a year and ride every time. The staff is great at not only providing a quality pony or trail ride, they make sure my kids are safe and have a great time. The prices are reasonable and definitely worth the money-every time.
We were a little disappointed that the trail ride was more in an open pasture than in the moutains at Dogwood Canyon. We felt like the price was too high for where the trail ride is.
We visited Big Cedar and Cedar Mountain Stables last year and had a blast! We planned our return trip for May and I was anxious to see how the new off property stables worked out. Since it is sort of off property from the lodge now, it is a bit of a drive to get there, but I have to say it was well worth it. The ride was great before, but it is so much better now. Great views riding through the meadows, you get to see all the horses that are on "vacation" enjoying themselves in the pasture...it feels like you are in your own little world. For the cost, the ride is well worth it. Sometimes when you go on other trail rides, the horses are on autopilot, "barn sour", and just over the whole hauling people around thing. Both times we have went, the horses seem relaxed and happy, and well taken care of. That's the other "best thing" about the new location, before the horses were housed in a corral that when we went was ankle deep in mud, lots of flies, it just didn't look like the best situation. Now there is plenty of grass for everyone, and no mud or dirt corral. The wranglers have always been great too, friendly, genuinely seem interested in people and horses, always willing to talk and answer what I'm sure are the same questions day after day. I love it! I'll say it again....well, well worth the money and the time.
We've ridden every time we've been to Big Cedar. The staff at the stables is attentive, polite, and fun. The ride is always a delight! I highly recommend you try this at least once.
