little o's"soda shop

The shop is a blast! They had old fashion candies, fresh made fountain sodas, shakes and yes, gooey butters. If you are anywhere close you need to stop in and get some! Pros: Fun sodas, decor & foodCons: My waistline! LOL

Perfect end to a dinner with friends. We haven't seen our dear in almost a year and went to dinner locally at Tony's. We walked down Main street and happend upon this little gem. My Husband is a huge ice cream fan. I could take or leave it - considering my diet, more of the leave. But this place is great. Lots of character and it was really great seeing old candies and soda's from our childhood. The people before us wanted to take a gooey butter cake home to Philly (they make a gooey butter shake). They swapped them for a fresh out of the oven that was still warm. Suffice to say all in our party and the Philly family were happy. PS. I even broke my diet for a salted carmel....my weakness. SO GOOD! Visit, you'll be glad you did.

I personally didn't get anything the first time i went there but the second time i got cheesecake i believe and it was creamy and delicious. Plus you get to see your "ol' fashioned" drinks being made.

It's an old soda shop with ice cream and candy and their famous cake (they gave us samples and it was good) and phosphates, whatever those are. The young man who served us was cute and pleasant and very knowledgeable about the shop and the area.

What a treasure! Little O's is such a special place to visit. Sodas and floats and ice cream and don't leave without the gooey butter cake!! It's awesome. They have an old counter, and a really old style cash register. They have lots of the old "penny candy" style cannisters with some of the old favorites. It's a great place to stop in for a refreshing treat. Sit at the counter or at one of the little bistro style tables inside or out. The owners are really nice people, and all the workers are really pleasant. Lunch time sandwiches are really great too!

The owners of Little O's really put their heart and soul into this place and you can tell. From the authenticity of the soda fountain items, special "old time" candies and really delicious desserts. The Gooey Butter Cake, a St. Louis favorite, is made from a recipe passed down for over fifty years and is the best I've ever had! Try it in the Gooey Butter Cake Milkshake. They also have authentic flavored soda's, ice cream sodas, malts... All kinds of 50's diner classics. We will be back whenever we're in St. Charles!
