grenada lake

Beautiful area. Hiking trails were neat, picked up. Did not go out on the water, but from the dam, it is an impressive lake to look out on.

I absolutely love to take my family to Grenada Lake a few times a year. It's only about an hour and 1/2 from my house and we have family here. The beach is always nice and clean and the water is wonderful. There's great fishing, too, over by the dam.

Really nice COE campground on Grenada Lake. Several loops. Two on main lake and one on manmade lake. All are concrete pads with water and electric. No sewer, but each area has a dump station. We camped on the manmade lake, but would avoid this loop unless you like stepping in and stepping around goose poop! Don't know why these monster geese are still classified as federal migratory, they never leave. They are not so much of a problem in the other loops as they seem to like the protection of the manmade lake!Otherwise this is a great, well-maintained campground.The lake has excellent fishing, boating, skiing, beaches, etc.Good restaurants in Grenada are Jake & Rips and The Lost Pizza Co.

They have good camping areas for primitive camping and RVs. The fishing is not too bad here. You can catch Crappy, Bass, Striped Bass, Catfish, etc. They have parks with playgrounds for children and grills for cooking, and they also have pavilions for covered events, tennis courts, walking trails, golfing areas, etc. I don't like that you can't have a cooler with you on the beach but I do understand that people abused that with leaving trash on the beach. I did not like that you have to pay to park to go down to the beach. This is already provided in state taxes. I did not like the fact that there are no stores are restaurants at the lake.

Anyone who visits Grenada Lake will love it. There issomething for everyone of all ages. A beach , boating, waterskiing, picnicking . People from all over the world come to Grenada Lake for the fishing. There are crappie and bass tournaments held here every year. People hold family reunions at the lake. Camping in tents to rv's. showers, bathrooms , playgrounds for the kids, tennis court, hiking trails. Like I said something for everyone. There are some folks in the state that bring campers or rv's and live on the lake from the time school is out until time fir school to start back up. In June there is a huge celebration on the lake. A fishing rodeo for the kids , arts and crafts show, a carnival, live music, a classic car show, fireworks. If you choose to to visit you will not be disappointed!

Biggest lake of the state. You will find one the biggest Crappy fish in whole country. Camping and Golf courses are also near by if you are interseted. I did not use the gold course though. Lots of restaurant and motel options in Grenada.

Grenada Lake is an under-utilized and under-appreciated destination. The surrounding state park is in decent condition, has nice picnic, hiking and fishing amenities and is also really pretty. The locals are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet, too. Even if you're not there to fish, it's a great place to enjoy the outdoors.

Fishing, hiking trails, camping areas, swim beach, and friendly rangers. Some annual carnival was happening called Thunder on the Water complete with fireworks and carnival food and rides.

We were visiting Grenada and took a tour around the lake. I was amazed at all the activity. There were so many boats on the water fishing in all areas. The lake is set up very nicely to accomodate everyone. Camp sites, BBQ grills, Walking Paths, Boat ramps, Information / Historical sites around the dam are all available to the public. I'd suggest researching the lake and plan your trip... You could spend days enjoying it.

All great! Just make sure you bring a sandwich as there us nothing to eat in that area. Only the lake. Renting an RV will be great as there are plenty of spot for it.

I went to Grenada just to try out the lake. There was some bad weather, but I did get to fish for a few hours.

It's very large and very clean and nice swimming also! No dislikes it was good to visit! The grounds are very clean and nice to walk around on trails and go swimming in the lake!

Bei einer Fahrt über diese grüne Gewürzinsel kommt man immer auch am Grenada Lake vorbei, der aber relativ unspektakulär ist. Die Fahrt dorthin ist sehr kurvenreich und führt durch eine herrliche Natur. Dafür lohnt sich schon der Aufwand um hoch zum See zu fahren und auf der anderen Seite wieder runter zum Hafen. Aber meines Wissens nach, kann man den See weder umrunden, noch befahren, sondern nur von weitem betrachten.
