A nice place to take you back in time. My kids have had a great time every time we have visited. My son really enjoyed the rock mining. It's nice to have a place to see how people lived long ago.

Take a trip in a turn-of-the-century country village as you tour Landrum's and enjoy the authenticity, the charm and the friendliness of the hosts. Complete with a working grist mill, some farm animals, a fantastic gift shop and hand-made furniture, Landrum's is a treat for any age, but children can also learn a lot. It is an educational experience, a fun time and an escape to the outdoors. Their special events during certain times of the year will delight you as craftsmen are throughout the grounds. Take time for a lunch break while you're there. Don't miss this family-owned and family-operated experience!

Very interesting and well received spent a couple hours just meandering the grounds for the 8$ fee it was well worth it. There was a family preparing for a wedding this afternoon it was interesting to see all the things that were put together for their wedding.

This outing had l been on my bucket list, at least since we relocated here last October, only about 34 miles from De Smet. Whether or not you ever read the LITTLE HOUSE books as a child, this is a very worthwhile visit to make, if only for the knowledge you can acquire. Even though we are retired, we learned a lot and I suspect families with children would enjoy it even more. The price is very reasonable and you might want to plan on spending at least a couple of hours in order to explore the entire attraction.

Take a trip back in time.........although I have never had a meal here, my daughter booked her wedding here. The food was absolutely wonderful. The accommodations were beautiful and rich, the grounds are nothing more than one very LARGE garden.

This was my 3rd or 4th time to visit. For me, and my adult son, the history of the place is fascinating. Even back 8 years ago, my teen nephews & son loved the old memorabilia. BUT, their absolute favorite was the maze and the Mystery House, or, as they called it, the antigravity place. My grandson was crazy for that this trip, too. It's a specially built building that, oh, I really don't have words to describe it. Another favorite thing was "panning for gemstones", which wasn't offered this time. But, my grandson and son and I all loved the shooting gallery. I don't think we've ever been there in the sweltering Mississippi summer, but it is rather hot business in spring and fall, being a lot of walking outdoors. The prices are okay, but you can get a free admission by visiting their website, so that was a plus.

We visited for my grand-daughter's 12 birthday. It was during the "Pinefest". We were expecting much more than we got. It was advertised that there would be enactments of the Civil War, but we only saw 5 people dressed in costumes and a couple of men shot a gun now and then. For the price, it wasn't worth it. Basically, it was a huge disappointment.

It is a great place for a family to spend a day or a few hours. My grand daughter clogs and her group performs there at Christmas time. other groups perform there too.

The homestead provided a variety of buildings to sample life in Mississippi during the early 1890's to early 1900's. A great friendly place to stop for a picnic lunch, food is not available, only snacks.

Landrum's Homestead & Village is a walk down memory lane. They have sixty different buildings. some are re-created old buildings and some are old buildings relocated from their original sites. Each building contains a vast amount of antiques and memorabilia. The gift shop and furniture store has something for everyone. This is a great place for kids. They have some animals walking around like a peacock and you can feed the pot-bellied pig Wilbur. Hint - Wilbur loves pecans. You can find pecans all over the grounds. For amusement, try the shooting gallery (extra cost). I want to go back, because you cannot see everything in one visit.

We toured Landrums in mid October, so there weren't many people there. There were a lot of buildings to look in and they all had different antiques or collections. They also had a spot for "gem mining", but that wasn't open (some of the other buildings weren't open either). I think if it had been earlier in the summer, more would have been open. Even so, it was an enjoyable and interesting walk through the different buildings. There is also gift store on the premises that has home decorating items (mostly upscale types of things).
