I'm not normally a fan of touring cemeteries, but this was a completely different experience for me. The amount of history found throughout this place is astounding. Not to mention it comes with a little paranormal activity, or at least that's what I heard. The Turning Angel statue is supposed to turn its head in the direction you are walking. Unfortunately, I was never able to find it. Well worth the time spent here.

I first pulled into the newer section of the cemetary not knowing about the main part.It was small. The markers were mostly from Korea and Vietnam.I got out and walked over to the bluff to view Old Man River. He was there but obscured by brush for the most part.As I was leaving I noticed the main section across the street.I pulled in there and took the gravel loop road around the yard.It was beautiful! The first and lasting impress was that of all the stones marked unknown.Hundreds.A son,a brother, a dad that didn't get back home and who's family never really knew what happened.I was there on November 10 and believe me I thanked them all .I knew who they were and I knew what they did for all of us.If you go I trust you to do the same.

I love going to old cemeteries and this one did not disappoint me. It was full of history and covered many generations. Many times I feel cemeteries tell more history about a place than the town itself and this could be said of this one also. This was well worth the hour we spent.

The cemetery is located on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. A solemn place to see all the graves of those men and women that protected our freedom so we can travel around this county without fear. Thanks to all of them!

As with any National Cemetery I have visited, it is A+. The grounds are well kept. The restrooms are clean. It exudes a somber, reverent, respectful, and honor attitude. Located just outside of town on cemetery road with a view of the river. It is a Great Location and just next door to the Historic Natchez Cemetery.

We biked around all the cemeteries in Natchez and did geocaching. All the cemeteries are so well kept and are all well marked as to various areas. A must see in Natchez.

This cemetery is beautiful and yet, sad. I'm glad we stopped by. It's not too far from the Natchez historical cemetery. Doesn't take long to drive through.

We drove through first just to get a good overall feel for the layout. We stopped in some areas to look around. It was very interesting to see all fo the people who had come from other countries back in the 1800's. There were many from Ireland, Austria, Italy, just to name a few. We went in the heat of the day and it was HOT but we did enjoy seeing it.

Very well maintained. Lots of history, Great place for photographers, lots of wrought iron. Very interesting mix of old and new markers, epitaphs.

Lots of info available on the graves there- a perfect illustration of history in the city of Natchez. A very large place, interesting markers and colorful stories. They do an "angels on the bluff " presentation each fall where locals dress up like the deceased and tell their 'story'. A quick sell, so get tickets early for this great show

While visiting Natchez our host gave us a cd for touring which made this visit very informative. There is so much history there and it is well maintained. The turning angel story was creepy. Surprising the the of different nationalities here.

What a great side trip that could turn into a whole day adventure. The Visitor Center CD made this location come alive. Real stories of ordinary people were terrific.

Take the time to read the names, dates and nationalities on the clean headstones. Lots of history there. Well maintained. Get out and walk. Narrow roadways and limited parking spaces.

The grounds of the cemetery are very well maintained. The turning angel is a must see; chilling story. I would recommend getting the cd from the visitors center to get specifics on the cemetery. If you don't have the cd, you can still enjoy the grounds. Wear your walking shoes!

My father is handicapped so we drove through instead of walking and as a result I feel we missed much. Even so, the sheer magnitude is overwhelming and to see so many "Unknowns" is heartbreaking. It is impossible to not think of the families, waiting at home for news that will never arrive.
