It is okay with three hotels and many casinos with lots of food choices and shopping but limited entertainment on a Sunday nighf. A COMEDY club was availlabel but performers listed were not impressive. A local band or singer would be a great addition.
The casino isn't as broke as they want us to believe. Don't believe the hype !! I am sure every franchise or store in the casino pays rent. On top of that I am sure Foxwoods gets a cut of every meal, drink, or every dollar that comes in. The rent will continue to get paid. There's the hotel and MGM. The nightclub, etc. I know they have expenses and employees to pay but all the money the consumers lose each night should also allow for this. Without getting political, it is similar to the gov't telling us there is a national debt, really? Then why are we continuing to purchase war machines that cost millions and billions of dollars. That really makes sense. Foxwoods has continually said they are going out of business since like 2005...Ha. I will believe it when I see it. But, it is a fun little getaway, if you are not a gambling addict. I would never go and mortgage my house or hock some jewels to lose it all to the casino
I have been a frequent guest and loyal customer of Foxwoods Casino and Resort. But after my last visit of 3/5, & 3/6 , I must say I am extremely disappointed. While the Hotel is clean and comfortable, its the casino that has deteriorated.First, the casino was under construction, and no previous communication regarding this was ever communicated prior to my planned visit. There were virtually no slots available, and if you ere fortunate to find one, you did not want to leave it as you would not find another. The drink and beverage service was also non existent, and if you were fortunate enough to find a server, they acted as if they ere doing you a favorI am terribly disappointed with my recent visit to the casino, and honestly will rethink any future visits going forward. The Casino Management needs to regroup and get there act together!!!!They can do better than this.
My wife and I went to this casino on a date night and found it to be a complete waste of time and money. We were there in the very early evening and never once saw a cocktail waitress. The bars were so over crowded we couldn't get a drink there either. The shows were way over priced and the food was average at best. We went there when they first opened and loved it. But now it just seems old and dingy and out dated. Machines were broken, roof leaked. carpet faded. Can't believe they want to open more of these in the sate when they can't even maintain the ones they have. Horrible experience.
Place is starting to look worn and drab. Some slots were covered in plastic as ceilings were leaking and the smoking is absolutely horrendous. Some of the machine are long past replacement and others were broken. The ladies serving drinks, could of cared less and spent more time talking to friends then making rounds to check on patrons. Once I flagged her down, after an hour at a certain slot machine, I asked for wine and she replied her shift was ending and would pass my request to the next shift. She never did!!! Overall attitude seems lacking and careless. Not this evening but on a past visit, I was at a slot machine and actually found a insulin needle laying on the floor right by my foot.Bathrooms could of been cleaner. Overall, not a place to skip just yet, as I do see renovations taken place, but I do hope they can improve to the Foxwoods we all once knew.
was really hyped about Foxwoods and got there and its not at all what we had hoped for and expected. Not very clean and so spread out that if you are not able to walk long distances or for very long this is not the place for you. Slots are just ok as well...we most likely will not return. Just not a fun place.
This is the second year that I've had a business conference at Foxwoods. Pros: Good food. Pleasant Staff. Free parking. Cons: Lots of walking long distances between areas. The under-one-roof concept is nice but you don't anticipate just how far away everything is from each other. Signage is terrible. Even though I've been here a few times, and am a frequent business traveler in general, I can never seem to find my way from the reception area to whatever my next destination is. It's very poorly marked. I ask the staff every time just as a back up, and they are often confused about it as well. The air quality isn't great... sort of gross actually. The rooms were once nice but are now on the decline. Overall it's ok, but I was especially unimpressed on this last visit.
My husband and I drove down from NH Thursday March fifth to spend the night. When we arrived, we were checked in right away and the room was great, clean and had a beautiful view. A short while later we went walked around and found that many of the shops and restaurants were closed. We went into one of the casinos for about an hour and never saw a cocktail waitress!! As the night went on many of the casinos and bars were closing much to our dismay. We were told that many of the workers could not make it in due to the snow, yet we had just driven down from NH in the snow! We went to the main desk to complain along with several other disgruntled customers. We asked about some type of compensation for the inconvenience and were told that they would not be providing any type of compensation! In the early evening we were in one of the bars and people, that were actively playing on the machines, were told that they needed to leave because they were closing. They closed all but 2 casinos. The Grand Pequot was open, however, a majority of it was closed due to construction resulting in a very crowded atmosphere and not a lot of options for machines. My overall experience with this casino was very poor. They kept stating that their employees could not get to work and there was nothing they could do....yet what if I had called and said we couldn't make it that evening due to the snow...they would have still charged me the room fee for that night! Just wanted to put this out there....we will be going to Mohegan Sun from now on. You have lost our business!
This a is a very big and bright resort. The weekend was very busy and crowded(we expected this we don't leave until Tuesday so I hope we can see some things today and tomorrow . I really want to review the room. We have a director suite I. The fox tower. The bad: dirty towels with makeup on them. Dirty lamp shade and floor. I don't think my room was cleaned! Broken blind the the jacuzzi area. Broken outlets. No microwave( in a suite very strange ). Broken toilet paper ring. Over all the room is ok the decor is pretty plain. This is less then my expectations considering the cost. I am a bit of a room snob I only stay in suites in at least 4 star hotels. The Fox Tower need work. At this point I don't think I'll stay here again.
A great hotel and casino. We stayed here three nights, on of them during a blizzard. Snowed in but the casino and hotel operated at practically full staff. Especially enjoyed their buffet. Would return without any hesitation.
We came to Foxwoods on Thursday night 3/5/2015 and found only one casino open...Grand Pequot which was bad enough but half of the casino floor was torn up and behind curtains. It was terrible. All these people are trying to literally "find" a machine and of course there are no machines available. Whose bright idea was this. Why not close that casino while they are "renovating" and keep one of the others open. But still one casino open? We are going to Mohegansun today.
The rooms in the tower are freshly renovated. The gaming is vast and varied. Keep your walking shoes on Foxwoods is mammoth. ENJOY
Foxwoods is a destination not just for the gambler. Great Hotel accommodations with 5 star restaurants on the property. Golfing , shows, museum's and Tons of sight seeing close by. A week is easily doable with out getting bored. I have been to Vegas many times and after 3 or 4 days I'm ready to leave. The crowds & noise just get to me. Foxwoods has all the action byt with out the noise and glitter
