My husband and I saw the sign on the highway for the Coal Museum and decided we wanted to stop by. After we got a little lost (there weren't any signs once you take the exit off the highway) we found the museum. Our guide worked in the coal mine locally there in Big Stone Gap Virginia for over 31 years. He was so helpful explaining the different pieces on display and how exactly the machinery used to work. Great stop if you love history or are interested in coal mining.
