We go to the Frenchmans corner for their specialty foods. My youngest has food allergies, which often makes shopping tricky. The last time we were there, I had both my girls with me. They were offered a treat, but we're also asked if they had allergies. As an allergy mom, this made me very happy. After being told what she was allergic to, they were still able to find something safe for my daughter, which made her day. She's so used to being left out, and fir once she wasn't. Thank you so much.
The chocolates are wonderful and the customer service is fantastic! I have returned several times and the quality and service remains the same. On my first visit with my 6 year-old daughter, the wonderful man behind the counter explained to my daughter the story behind their delectable Astrid chocolate! It's still her favorite!
Great business that offers a wide variety of excellent chocolate and fudge. If you're looking for a special gift to give to someone, this is the place to go.
If you have never been to The Frenchman's Corner, then you are missing out on some amazing sweets! My family from Michigan makes a visit every time they come down to stay with us! The staff are friendly and helpful too.
The Frenchman's corner has the best chocolate around. My husband alao bought me some fabulous soaps from there, well. Love it!
This place has the best selection of chocolates, wines, and gifts. It's our go-to for unique gifts for all occasions!
Frenchman's Corner is worth a trip to Culpeper - we always stop by when traveling through the area. The staff are passionate about chocolate and always ready to help with special requests. And you just can't get better chocolate than Neuhaus!
The Belgian chocolates and organic ice cream (in season) are surpassed only by the warmth and friendliness of the store's European owner and his wife. This is not merely a place to rush in and buy the world's finest chocolates--although you can, if you wish. If you take a little time to enjoy the local hospitality and pleasant conversation, I think you'll find your visit to The Frenchman's Corner a most enjoyable (and delicious) experience!
There's chocolate, and then there are visually stunning little works of art that melt on the tongue and dissolve into pure bliss.I know, that sounds like overwrought prose, but it's true. The Frenchman's Corner consistently delights, and the build-a-box option makes for memorable gifts. The owner told us he plans to install a dine-in crepe station soon. We're looking forward to it.
Of course the Friendly Frenchman and his loving wife have the most delicious Belgium chocolates and fudge you will ever want to put in your mouth but they also have much more in their beautiful store. Organic, Gluten free, one of a kind, specialty little oh-my-goodness items abound on the shelves and in the coolers. The owners will share not only the history of the chocolate with you but also the history of Culpeper plus lunch or dinner advice including why you may want to make dinner reservations on a Saturday night. You will feel like royalty as the Frenchman gently plucks your chocolate selection from his case with a white glove and places it on a gold platter awaiting your next selection. A wonderful place with beautiful people offering outstanding products!
After hiking the Old Rag with my sister, we stopped at Culpeper on the way back to Rockville. We stopped by at The Frenchman's Corner for chocolates. The chocolates were amazing and delicious. Marc, the owner, was very friendly and happy to chat with you about the chocolates. He was very nice, and even gave my sister and I a complimentary bag to ensure the chocolates stayed fresh.
As a resident of Culpeper this is by far my favorite store. Marc is an amazing owner and always willing to chat and tell you about the chocolates he sells. They also carry a nice selection of other foodstuffs, some kitchen gadgets and local meat. If you are passing through or live nearby make time to stop by this fantastic shop.
After lunch in Culpeper, since it was raining, we decided to go back to our B&B and on the spur of the moment we stopped in The Frenchman’s Corner to see what they had in the chocolate. Of course we submitted to our urges and bought some Neuhaus delicious chocolates. The staff was the BEST. Gave us samples and educated us on the Neuhaus brand. This is a lovely little storefront worth a visit.
The best chocolate around anywhere in the US that I have found. Reminds me of the chocolates in Belgium. They also have some very neat kitchen gadgets.
Frenchman's Corner is a unique little shop in lovely downtown Culpeper VA. Marc and Meg Ast have a gem in the midst of history. You go for the chocolate and stay for the interesting conversation. A great addition to this wonderful town!!
