This is a pretty property where George Washington once served on the vestry. Originally Anglican, it is now part of the Episcopal Church of America. The grounds are nice but it is not exactly an "attraction" the way the National Cathedral is... but it is a pretty little place to stop and take a few photos. They also have an old cemetery in the church yard.
theres not much to do here. tysons corner mall was amazing though. its quaint and quiet, its a nice place to stay outside of the city
The Truth. the truth of the Bible. Music, preaching, community. It feels just right. Come one, come all!
This is a traditional Episcopal church in history and service. The most remarkable thing about it is the length of time it takes to pass the peace. Settle in and be prepared to be not just greeted but warmly welcomed and invited to an amazing spread called coffee hour. These people are truly happy to meet you. Explore the historic grounds with grave markers from both sides of the Civil War, walk the beautiful grounds with extensive canopy from the old trees or just sit on a bench and feel the peace.
I like that the commute is less then 20 minutes into DC. I dislike the small mind mentally that governs the 2.1 miles of the City of Falls Church. If the City ever develop a 20 year plan and stuck to it this place could be something. Now development for the City changes to reflect the whim of Board members that are presently seated.
Inside Falls Church is the City of Falls Church. It offers a variety of interesting places that trace back to earlier than the civil war as well as new sites that evokes the diversity of the residents. The city is known for its all year round Saturday morning farmer's market held in the parking lot of the community center. It is a vibrant place where one can indulge in fresh crepes and donuts and various breads and pastries while shopping for fresh produce and artisan cheeses.
Excellent place to shop, eat, and have fun. My sisters and I had an awesome time while visiting this area.
Lots to do within a reasonable distance. Amazing restaurant selections! Lots of shopping and international appeal. Can go to hole in the wall places of Big Bucks Tysons Corner. Not to far from DC or Leesburg! Will keep coming back even though it is VERY hot and humid!
We attended a special new years ever 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, part of the city wide Watch Night festivities. Great fun learning experience. Church is beautiful and the people are welcoming.
The look, feel, architecture and history here are great to experience. Don't need a long time, it's just very peaceful and you can feel the history.
The city of Falls Church has been around forever, but that becomes even more evident when you realize that the city was named for THIS church! The historic church just exudes history, and the city has indeed grown up around the church grounds.
Supposedly George Washington's old church. Lots of history there. Very pretty. If you have the opportunity to stroll through the cemetary, it's amazing. Gravestones date back to 1790's. Weird to think about but very cool to see.
