Thank you for your kind words. Our golf course can be a challenge, especially if you play the wrong tees. We offer 7 sets of tees including two PGA Family markers for kids. I've found that playing from the White or Gold tees make the golf course much more fun to play, assuming you can hit the ball fairly straight. If you don't hit it straight, then one of our PGA Professionals can give you a lesson to help find your swing. Our goal is to provide great service, exemplary course conditions and delicious food with a friendly smile. We take great pride in providing a great experience for every customer on every visit, and on occasion we fall short. I have spoken with several golfers who indicate that our greens are now really smooth and fast. So as the weather improves, I encourage you to give us another chance.

Thank you for your comments, and please accept our sincere apology for the less than excellent experience you had on Sunday. Unfortunately, as you indicated, our practice range requires us to exclusively hand-pick balls. On Saturday night we had a heavy rains late in the evening and were unable to pick the range completely. This caused us to have a shortage of range balls for our customers much of the day on Sunday. We are taking the necessary steps to remedy this situation. I certainly hope you change your mind and visit us again, as it appears as though the rest of your visit was enjoyable.

Thank you for your comments about Blue Ridge Shadows and your thoughts on our routing change. I agree that the original design finishing on the original 18th hole (now the 14th) was a much stronger finishing hole for the better player. That being said, our reasoning behind the change was twofold. The first was that changing the routing improved the pace of play. Golfers would make the turn, play 10-13 and then have to face the uphill, into the wind, forced carry par-3 14th hole. Quite honestly, on busy days we would have two or three groups waiting to play the 14th. By making the 10th the par-3, we solved the pace of play problem, making rounds of golf faster, thus more enjoyable. The second was that the original 18th hole had a blind hazard off of the tee (since renovated) that swallowed a perfectly struck drive. Our most frequent comment from golfers playing the course for the first time was, 'Love the Course, Hate #18'. Players would hit a perfect drive over the bunker and find their ball in a hazard that they couldn't see from the tee. We have made that hole much more playable by converting nearly 40 yards of hazard into fairway. All that being said, we are happy with our decision primarily because the pace of play is so much better. The next time you want to visit Blue Ridge Shadows let us know! We'll either let you play the original routing or move the tees up on #18, making it the ultimate drive-able risk-reward Par -4!

Thank you for your comments. We strive to provide the very best course conditions possible. We did have a very busy August and had performed a recent aerification on the greens to promote the health of the turf. After aerification, we always keep the greens a little slower until they grow back in and can handle extremely low mowing heights during hot and humid DC summers. We have taken measures to control the crab and goose grasses on the tee surrounds and we can always use the golfers help when it comes to replacing / filling divots, repairing ball marks or raking bunkers. Right now the golf course is almost perfect. The warm days and cool nights make for optimum growing conditions, so our staff encourages you and other golfers to 'Come Play'!
