The Tides Inn as a property is gorgeous, and you cannot beat the Northern Neck. I have nothing but positive things to say about the location. Irvington, VA is one of my favorite places on earth, and they make staying there an experience.I am writing a review about the spa specifically on this occasion. In the past month, I have now been to the spa twice for manicures. The first time, I received a manicure. It was a lovely experience, every member of the staff I encountered was helpful and genuinely friendly, and I left very pleased and eager to come back. Then my manicure chipped within 24 hours. Then all the polish peeled off in intact strips without nail polish remover. I took pictures I was so surprised and sent them to my mother (who I had originally had my Girls' Day with) and she had just had the same experience! When we contacted the spa about this issue, Shawn was wonderful and accommodating and offered for us to come back and get our nails done again to rectify the problem. Our second experience was equally lovely, and I cannot emphasize enough how pleased I was with the staff. Our nail technicians were awesome, and Shawn was very helpful. That was this past Saturday afternoon, and this morning, on Tuesday, I finally had to give in and peel the rest of my polish off, again without needing nail polish remover.I really feel it must be a result of the SpaRitual products they use at the salon. I love that they have gone vegan and green in the spa, but I feel the need to warn other visitors that you must be willing to pay for the manicure for the pleasant experience without expecting polish longevity. I do not know if they would allow you to bring your own polish in, but I will call and ask for that option before I go again at some point.Overall, it is a wonderful place; I am impressed by them, and by their commitment to going green in the spa, but I am not impressed by the SpaRituals product.
