We organized a farm tour and activities for my daughter's birthday. The kids had a great time gathering eggs and meeting lots of farm denizens. They carded wool, learned about bees, and generally had a great time. Pearl the white turkey was a favorite, as was Olie the pot-bellied pig. The farmers were wonderful and the experience couldn't have been better.

Discovered this hidden gem by accident (we were going peach picking at Hollins Farms in Delaplane) and discovered this huge old bank barn at the intersection of Rt 50 and Rt 17 because my kids wanted to see emus, llama, alpaca and other unusual farm animals at this farm. After drooling over the sheep and goats too, we discovered this is an organic farm with fresh veggies, pasture eggs and herbs. We couldn't resist and have been back one additional time and everything changes with the seasons. They only sell what they produce so if it is not in season you can't find it there. The farmers are very friendly and we learned about animals, farming and the history of the area. Been there 2x and both times we were the only people there so we could ask a lot of questions and the kids had a blast. My kids nag me every weekend to go back to see the farm in Paris and frankly we love it too! Cheap and fun. Great for kids. So beautiful. Looks more like Ireland than NOVA.
