The park is great for wandering around and enjoying the country setting. There are many activities that are scheduled so be sure and check the bulletin boards.

This beautiful park is the best in the area. It has multiple play areas for all ages in different places around the park. There is a small age playground all by itself overlooking the lake and the walking paths. There is a very large (largest in the area) playground for all ages in the center that is well attended by many families. There are real bathrooms at almost all the areas which is a plus!Pavilions and park benches and picnic tables abound!

This park is spread out across both sides of Fairfax Pike and has a walking/bike trail along Warrior Drive as well. The south side of the park has nice, wide trails that go into the woods and around the small lake. The north side has a Frisbee golf course and ball fields, plus the walking trail that leads you all the way to Warrior Drive. Fantastic place to walk, jog, bike. There are also multiple picnic shelters and playgrounds.

Your kids will love Sherando Park for the playground equipment, the lake, the walking paths, and the picnic areas. My favorite spot is the picnic gazebo towards the back of the park. It's a perfect view of the lake and trees - it is very restful and refreshing. We've held birthday parties and church picnics here, but it's also a great place just to get outside and run around. The restrooms are not too bad, for public restrooms. I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K that will be held here this year. Frederick County has done a great job maintaining their parks and keeping them to a high standard. Enjoy!

Perfect vistas, great hikes, and wonderful drive along the Shyline drive. Rangers very helpful, check before you go for free lectures and times along the mileposts.

Summertime, the pool is open. Besides that, year round, playgrounds, Shelters, picnic areas, grills and baseball and soccer field. Plenty of options. Well kept and clean, in a safe area. What more could you want!

We came here for lunch with our children and grandchildren after visiting Dinosaur Land nearby. This park has wonderful shady picnic areas, each section with its own playground. Some of the picnic areas overlook a pretty lake with a walking trail around it. The five grandkids were so excited that they couldn't wait to gobble up lunch so they could play. There is also a centrally located building with indoor bathrooms. We didn't have time to explore the rest of the park, but we want to come back for another picnic in the fall when the trees here should be gorgeous!
