We took my daughter to a birthday party here, and she had the most fun. The dinosaur looked real, my daughter Lily had fun with the clues to find different dinosaurs in the scavenger hunt trail. Lily was able to find all of them. Your able to have pizza delivered there if your having a party. I would definitely go again.
My 5 year old son loves dinos so this was right up his alley. Great place to stop during road trip. Only trouble was the kids (2 and 5 yrs old) wanted to stay longer. Clean restrooms, a few bottled beverages, awesome gift shop, playscape and the walking tour was awesome. Truly something we will always remember. Son has made dad promise he will go back with him. Age 5 was perfect. Two year old was a little unsure and wanted to be carried. Walk was easy and good length. We emailed the night before an off season day when they should have been closed but they were open for a field trip so we got in! We will definitely be visiting again. Lots of fun photo opps!
This is such a fun little dinosaur park for the younger crowd. My 4 year-old daughter went with her grandparents and decided that she needed to take my husband and I there. The park is laid out where you enter and exit through their gift shop (smart move there). There is a small outdoor playground area with picnic tables and room to play. Then there is the "Dinosaur Trail", they give you a laminated sheet describing each of the numbered stops. The larger dino models all have information plaques you can read along the way and they are nicely accurate. A little bit of science but not too dry for the kiddos. The trail is even and flat and winds around through the cedar and oak scrub, I'd estimate it to be only about a total of a half mile distance-wise, not too far for younger kids. They change the trail up periodically and have different displays so it's a place you can come back to that won't be stale after one or two visits. I'd say the age is good up to about 10 or so? After that they probably might consider it too "baby-ish". But we had a great time, it was a fun way to kill an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon.
My wife and I took our two young boys to dino park and had a blast. Its well maintained and very educational. The dinos look great and are true sized. They have great little gift shop that has a good selection of toys and books. All in all we will recommend and return
The family that founded this for themselves were wise when they chose to share. It's not overly done or hokey. It's always a great couple of hours for any family with boys!
great family entertainment and education. Clean facility. Interesting and life-like exhibits and trails. 3 new dinos this year. Always accurate information presented in the tours.
They've moved some things around lately (improved). The models are very good, display choices thoughtful and the 'scavenger hunt' card of 20 items is a winner with our dino-obsessed 6y and his very patient/tolerant 8y sister. We've been 4 times in 2yrs and they are excited each time still. Fantastic gift shop if you're into dinosaurs. Very friendly and family owned/run. Highly recommend.
There is a trail filled with statues of different dinosaurs hiding in the trees and brush. They provide a scavenger hunt sheet for things to find. My kids had a great time looking for the clues. They weren't that interested in the informational dino facts I was reading to them from the plaques beside each dino, but the fact that it was outside and the statues were hidden on a trail held their interest. They have a huge brachiosaurus statue that was several stories tall. Also, they had a playground and a dino dig at the end of the tour. The gift shop was nice and had a good variety of souvenirs. My kids got dino fossil necklaces, shirts and small dinosaurs all for a reasonable price. I would recommend it for children 8 and under, as I'm not sure older children would be interested in simple statues that aren't moving. But since my kids are 6, we had a blast! Great for families passing thru on a rode trip to Austin. It's located near Bastrop right off the highway.
