the pines theater

I went to go see a show here at the PineS Theater. It is beautifully kept, and very comfortable. The seats feel clean, the bathrooms feel clean. An old school feel in our modern times.

This theater has recently been restored, and they did an amazing job. The brick arch work they found under the paneling is WOW. The new carpeting matches the ambiance of the age of the theater. We were in Lufkin for my father's Navy Ship Reunion and they allowed us to all come and see an old movie clip (their age movie). At the end of it a Power Point started that a group member had built that was about thirty five minutes long, which had pictures of the group on ship and their families. There were lots of smiles and tears.Additionally, the theater provided popcorn and allowed local tv and newspaper reporters in to interview the men. This was an experience that these men and families will never forget. The staff was gracious and friendly, and genuinely interested in these men and their families. If you are in Lufkin or just love old theaters, stop in and watch a show. You will not be disappointed in this theater.
