We had a wonderful weekend getaway with our 2 dogs. Sheila and Bill went above and beyond in accommodating us and our dogs. They made incredible breakfasts that were specifically designed to our taste and gluten allergy. The views are spectacular and Bill made sure the hot tub was at a perfect temperature for us to enjoy while it was snowing. Rowley and Griffey had the run of the Inn, their own beds, water bowls and lots of people to play with. Sheila also made special treats for them to enjoy. Overall, a wonderful experience and can't wait to return. There was nothing we didn't like.
I just loved the jump into the 47 degree water from the taller cliff.. I was just a teenybop then.. My big 15 foot, head first splash into the ravine, and the shock I got all the way from my toes to my head brought me a sense of adventure, completion, and pride that I will never forget. I swam. my feet screaming all the while, and drank that water right from the springs 'til my stomach hurt! Most indefinitely, this was one of the best times of my childhood! I'll remember it forever. Thanks for the memories. (1990)
On a hot summer day, there is no better place to take a plunge to cool off. Jump from a high rock formation into clear cold water and then go exploring the various rocky outcroppings and mini caves. If the water is to cold for you, you can walk in the woods and enjoy the NH air. A great free family day trip only an hour from Concord.
Friends brought us to Sculpted Rocks to explore and it was amazing!! We had first gone in the late afternoon & our son wanted to go back to swim. When we got there, people were jumping off the rocks into the basin of water below- was pretty scary to me!! We decided to go farther down the water to explore and man was that water cold!! It took your breath away when you got in! After exploring for awhile we decided to head back to where the people were jumping and watch. My husband jumped and then our son decided to as well. Very nerve wracking for a mother! I would have to say, the only negative was the huge, and I do mean huge, horse flies. You would swat them, they'd laugh at you and then fly away!! It was well worth the stop and I'm looking forward to going back to explore the area more.
If you are in the area it is worth the stop. Interesting rock formations, waterfall, and a bridge for better viewing.
First, this is a beautiful (but cold) swimming hole created by mountain water running over the rocks forming a little river that flows into a pool. Its a great nature spot that is very relaxing due to the nearby falls. If you're feeling daring, you can jump off of the ledge into the deep water below. For the very brave, there are one or two underwater tunnels to the sides of the river (but can be hard to find---a local swimmer showed me the location the first time I went). I went my first time when I was a preteen, and I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever done. I wasn't as "wowed" this last time, but still worth it! Even if it wasnt free I would still go again!
Very interesting river bed with pot holes with the rocks that formed them still in the holes. we have been visiting this area for many years. Can be nerve racking if you have younger kids. Best to keep them on the path, but they will want to climb on those rocks! Narrow river bed with rocky ledges about 15 - 20 feet that people jump off of into an area where there is deeper water. We have been there when the water level is low and the rocks are very visible and we had to make sure that the water was deep enough to jump into. Several small waterfalls. This year water was rushing rapids and not at all safe to attempt swimming in. There is a bridge overlooking the riverbed.
nice rock formation with river and waterfall running through and probably worth viewing but nothing too out of the ordinary
Just another great New Hampshire spot to enjoy the natural surroundings and cool off. A great place to unwind.
If you are a geology rock hound kind of person or just enjoy interesting formations in nature this is a great place to check out. You won't spend an entire day here, but, it is worth a look.
Giant granite bubbles, tumbled boulders and flume-type spillway with a deep, clear swimming hole for the brave. The log bridge enables visitors to feel right in the middle of the experience and moderate hiking trails offer woodland exploration. The water is always cold so in summer this is a great place to cool off.
loved the natural beauty. It's hard to find, however, but worth it! This is a great place to visit on a hot day!
An unexpected afternoon shower kept our visit to Sculptured Rocks Geologic Site short, but it was still worth a stop. The sculptured rocks were stunning and the fall foliage only enhanced the natural beauty. On a nice day, I bet it would have been an enjoyable walk around the area.
