I went specifically to use the spa. I was in need of a little pampering so scheduled a manicure and pedicure. Laura took wonderful care of me and I was very pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend stopping here when you are in town.
Vacationers coming to Sunapee for the lake in the summer and mountain in the winter want to play hard. After a fun day on the water or slopes, what better way to recover and rejuvenate than at the Spa at Mountain Edge. It is a beautiful and professionally designed facility, fully staffed for array of spa services. Whatever the previous reviewers had experienced, my recent encounters with the services have been altogether delightful. The staff is cheerful and experienced and the facilities are up to date, clean and comfortable.
My husband and our 12 year old daughter stayed one night at The Spa at Mountain Edge and were happy with the room size, very spacious, and easy check-in, etc.We did not use the spa services and so could not comment about that but one thing we were perplexed about was that there wasn't a thermostat in the room and so no ability to control the temperature except On or Off. Other than that, we found the accommodations were more than suitable but this is more of a timeshare lodging than a hotel, which should allow for different expectations. We would definitely return and especially liked the great location.I recommend checking out the Mt. Sunapee Adventure Park nearby (almost across the road); I did the zipline and found it to be very well run and definitely a memorable experience!!
This was the worst spa experience I have ever had. I booked in advance for a facial. When I arrived there wasn't a esthetician to perform the service. I was offered another service for half price. Since I had already made the drive from Cambridge, MA (2 hours away) I agreed to a discounted clay body mask. I went to get changed into a robe. The changing area was filthy. There were dirty drinking glasses left on the sink (that stayed there for the 2+ hours while I was there.) The "white" terry cloth slippers I was given to use were grayed and stained. The tile floor was freezing and not clean (dirt in the grouted areas.) There was no toilet paper. I let one of the staff know they were out of paper -- they left a roll of paper on the coffee table in the "lounge" area (still no paper in the toilet room.) I went to the treatment room for my service. The treatment was below average -- at best. 3 light bulbs were burnt out of the light fixtures. The counter tops were cluttered. The shower I had to use to wash after my treatment was dirty. There was cheap, chemical based body wash and an almost empty bottle of shampoo. The shower curtain was not substantial enough to keep the water from leaking on the floor. I had to step down out of the shower onto a wet, slippery tile floor -- there was no shower mat. There wasn't a comb or brush (the woman went to see if the hotel upstairs had one.) The walls between the treatment rooms were very thin -- you could hear talking coming from the other rooms. The entire place is dated, dingy and not inviting. There is NO sense of serenity or calm in their decor. The greeting area is an assault on the senses. It smelled like a cheap candle store with too many fragrances lingering in the air (on top of chlorine from the indoor pool right outside the "spa" and fried food being cooked by the restaurant bar upstairs.) There were messy stacks of papers and files piled on file cabinets behind the check in desk. They were selling products in their greeting area -- on one of the shelves they were offering half priced products. These products were opened, used and old (they did not say tester on them.) There was a bowl of old valentine's day candy on the counter (it was the end of March.) Although the staff was kind, they were unprofessional and not qualified. Even at half off the price -- it wasn't worth it!
After booking a facial I was told upon arrival there was no esthetictian available. I was offered a half price foot scrub which supposed to be 45 min.I was given a 20 min foot bath which began with cold water. No Foot foot massage was provided only an application of lotion and paraffin. I them had to walk across the dirty and cold tile floor to my shoes. The staff was unprofessional but nice.
Loved the atmosphere, services and staff. A real treat!! Highly recommend. Pedicures and facials are top line. Massages as well.
everything was great ,location ,staff, acomadations
My husband and I got the rejuvinating hand & foot message and it was great. They even took us earlier then the appt. on a moments notice because they weren't busy that busy on a Sunday.
Excellent services and lots of pampering. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
