It went on and on with many rooms - cute vignettes in each one. While most exhibits were not interactive, they are modernizing as they can, with pull out drawers displaying more of the collection, especially beautiful Ojibwe beadwork. A really nice overview of the history of the entire county.

The museum not only holds a great on going Ottertail County Museum exhibit, but multiple traveling exhibits....and even invites a farmers market to their front lawn weekly in the summer. Worth the stop.

My family roots are in Fergus Falls so I really get a sense of home when there !My cousin and I try to visit often as it has a wonderful Genealogy Library next to the history museum.Museum is FULL of authentic artifacts from far back.Thanks for all of the workers there !!

Heritage and history of Ottertail County are brought to life at the Otter Tail County Museum. Whether it be the glow in the window of a model frontier cabin or the sounds of wildlife indigenous to lakes and prairies, the OTC Museum puts you in the midst of another time and place. Some museums are just warehouses of "stuff". But the Ottertail County Museum is a class-act for out-state Minnesota proving that you don't have to be in a metro area to see a fine quality museum. Allow at least 1.5 hours for self touring. Travelling displays (some from the Smithsonian) keep me coming back as a local resident.

An evening tour, as part of a conference in town, was a highlight of the day. Historic exhibits, current and past history, all sharing the local history as well as the migration west.

This museum is amazing. They have done a great job bringing you back in time. They have kept the documentation simple yet informative so it is very helpful. I really enjoyed it and will plan to go again. Greasy gift snoop as well.
