If the weather is nice this is a beautiful house and grounds to walk around and explore my wife and I walked around the grounds taking pictures and looked over one bluff and there was a wedding in process which was very pretty on the bright green grass below
When I was there it was not possible to enter the home only to view the exterior and the gardens. I enjoyed the gardens and the old stable house. If you have the time check it out.
Dr.Plummer built this house for his wife Daisy and 2 children after moving from the small town of Racine, Mn. It sits on , what they referred to as "Pill Hill". The grounds are now used for weddings and private events.
Take a tour. It is the best in the summer when all the gardens are in bloom. Lots of walking on uneven ground. The home is beautiful and very well kept up. The story behind the home, as same with the Mayowood mansion are so interesting.
Beautiful building, prior home of Dr. Plummer. It is a really cool pplace and the grounds are a really nice place to walk or take pictures. It's a nice place to get away from Rochester and feel secluded (even though it is in Rochester). Great for organizing your thoughts on a walk
Renowned Mayo physician Henry Plummer designed and built this lovely home on top of a scenic hill in SW Rochester. Unfortunately, the house tours are very limited to a few weekends In August. And there's very little original furnishings, as compared to the elaborate Mayowood, former home of Charlie Mayo et. al. The grounds are attractive, and can be seen year round. Better to spend time and effort going to Mayowood.
offing a wonderful view of the city and an historic house that is well preserved with very nice ground to walk around. Well worth the time.
Beautiful home nestled on a hill overlooking the city. Gardens are gorgeous and is a wonderful place to come to get away. The city offers tours on Wednesdays, but I am slightly disappointed at the price they charge to see the home.Overall, worth the trip!
The ornate workmanship in every detail from floors, ceilings, lighting, front entry is absolutely gorgeous! Very well maintained and clean.
House was neat to see and grounds were beautiful. Attended a wedding there. Wish I had time to explore the house and grounds a little more but was busy with the wedding.
We had a wedding here....the grounds are breathtaking....flowers are spectacular.....the Plumber house has a ballet dance florr on the third floor....beautiful scenic views from the house itself.....kitchen ready to cater a party.....fountains down on thew grounds.....SPECTACULAR.......there is a tower nearby, where Dr. Plumber had his study.......
Though not for more than 100 people, this is a fairy tale location for luncheon, men's club events, and smaller weddings. The gardens with fountains are perfect wedding locations with the house and patio perfect for any elegant occasion. Everyone loves the history and public tours are available sometimes. (see website). However, when we rent the house its available only to us and our guests. The Park and Rec personnel and the caretaker make everything smooth and so enjoyable.
Took trolley tour to see the grounds and home but from the exterior only. Grounds and home are beautiful but disappointed it wasn't open to guests in groups. History of Plummer family was interesting.
The floor that has the museum is excellent and the whole interior is absolutely beautiful! esp. for antique buffs!
Great place to check out when the weather's nice. The tour guides in Rochester know a ton about the history of the city so the tours are really interesting.
