The food here is always good, portions are large and food is fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is a golf club however it is more sports bar than country club. It is gorgeous and open but the sound is everywhere. One cannot enjoy conversation with a group larger than four.
Stonebrooke is definitely a must play in the Twin Cities. Course is very scenic with a nice variety of holes. Challenging but not too difficult so it's enjoyable for most skill levels.Beautiful clubhouse and the course conditions are usually very good. Nice grass driving range, too.
We were visiting from Houston and someone recommended playing Stonebrooke. What a wonderful surprise for a public course. The course is in fantastic condition with fast greens and a good challenge. I would really like to play it again but unfortunately we are leaving. There are a lot of blind shots and I am sure that I would score better the next time around. Don't miss a chance to play thus course. The course support personnel were all very helpful and with a smile! The weather was super. Couldn't have been a much better day.
Horrible service. Servers took away our drinks as we were drinking them. A waitress tipped over the wedding cake of the bride and groom. Chicken was over cooked and not enough space for everyone to sit. Horrible service and bad customer relations. First table was also finished with before the other tables received theres.
Unique course. Atypical layout makes it fun and challenging. Signature water hole with pontoon ride across lake. Well groomed, nice staff, good eats and drinks at clubhouse. Gret price. Recommend trying it out.
I paid $42 for a twilight. We did have some strong storms this weekend but the course was not in the condition I would expect for a round of golf that costs $60 typically on the weekend. The course was really soggy. There were a couple of other frustrations on the course as well. Outside of the beverage cart there was no place on the course that had water. Seems like a simple thing when you just want to fill a water bottle up on a hot day. The pace of play on the back nine was also really slow. I think it took over 5 hours to play our 18 holes. Also when we made our turn from #9 to #10 we wanted to grab some drinks and snacks at the club house. We walk in the club house an all the lights are turned off and the gentleman working the pro shop desk told us to go out and walk around to the bar because they were having a reception. It just seemed like a really odd and unwelcoming set up. Then when we finally got to the bar they didn't even have any bottled beverages we could take with us. It might seem like small things but attention to detail is what makes places shine. The staff was really friendly but I probably wouldn't make the trip out to play here again.
We attended a family wedding at Stonebrooke. There were about 120 people which was what I would recommend as the maximum size. Atmosphere and view were outstanding. They accomodated my need for a gluten free meal. The did a nice job reassuring me that they knew and understood my meal needs. It was not the best meal but I was glad I did not have to stand out with a strange meal or bring my own food. Thank you Carol!
Very nice facility, the golf course is fun to play. It's a fairly demanding course but generally in very good shape. The food has always been very good. Seating in the regular dining area is limited but when the weather is nice, the patio is a nice place for a drink and dinner.
Attended an event here. The food was excellent and the clubhouse is well suited for dining, dancing and entertainment. The indoor bar and the outdoor patio with a gas fireplace is inviting and fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the Stonebrooke experience.
Nice course - took GPS units out in 2012 season. Walk-up rate is quite expensive for the value. Book online for savings.
Food was decent, but don't go during a special meal event as service was beyond slow. Additional seating during the off season and when there isn't a wedding.
Started the day out with a round of golf. That was the most fun we have had in a long time and we had friends in from out of town and loved it as much as we did. The staff was friendly and helpful from arrival through departure. The course was in great shape and the pace of play was amazing for a busy weekend. The pontoon ride was an added bonus for our guests, they were thrilled.
I have played Stonebrook many times over the past 10 years. The course has always been in great shape, yet this is the first time I felt the need to write a review. Stonebrook always struggled with pace of play until this year. Management and the clubhouse staff have done an amazing job getting you on and off the course in under 4:15. The course offers so many risk/reward shots (especially on the last 6 holes) that makes it an excellent option for 5-18 handicaps. This would be a great course to have a tournament with your friends. The course is in pristine condition 9 out of 10 times (as long as they didn't get dumped with rain recently, at which point the greens can be almost too receptive and you get a lot of spin off the shorter part 3s). You have to stay straight on this course, because the rough is thicker than most public courses. The greens are very challenging.Overall, this has become my favorite course in the metro area. From the owner to the attendants cleaning your clubs after the round, you will feel very welcomed and appreciated. Their starters are always very congenial and will give you tips if it is your first time out. I am so happy they have made an obvious effort to improve pace of play. The value is the best around.
First time playing this course it was in unbelievable shape! Not only was the check-in process smooth but also very nice pleasant asst pro's working behind the desk. The starter's, beverage ladies and even course maintenance people were extremely respectful and it made for a very enjoyable round of golf. I have to say for any course in the surrounding metro area this has to be in the top 1 or 2 that I have played based on all around course maintenance, greens, staff, etc. Highly recommend golfers of all levels to check this course out!
My wife and I played 4:00PM on Saturday. The check-in was easy. They have staff that get you set up with your cart. The starter was great and made sure everyone got out on time. He had to do quite a bit of juggling as a number of groups were late. The course is fairly tight with a number of forced carrys. The pontoon ride on #8 is interesting. The greens are undulating and tricky oh and quick.(now if people would fix their ball marks). The forward tees (Red) are very fair and well placed. I lost a number of balls but had a great time.
