Loved the hike! Lots of stairs to climb, but worth it. The falls are beautiful. Was one of the highlights of our trip!

Palisade Head and the mouth the Baptism River are the most accessible places to hike. Shovel Point and the falls will require some longer hiking. The interior of the park is mostly accessible by foot where there are plenty of scenic overlooks. Cabins are available for rental and there are some cart in campsites. The visitor center is really new and comfortable place to rest.

Beautiful hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, esp the High Falls area. It has a variety of terrain.

The park does not have good signage. The entrance, if you are coming from Duluth is just after the Baptism river bridge. The high falls is a good hike 2 hrs with kids. Be prepared to go up and down hundreds of steps.

We have hiked the trails before, but we had not been on the east side of the park. This time we did go up to Shovel Point. The views are amazing. Looking forward to coming back and seeing the new park building.

This is a beautiful, scenic trail. It winds along a river through the woods. The hike isn't too strenuous. The view is awesome. This trail is well worth one's time.

This was our first time here and we stopped at the information center at the beginning of the park. They were very nice and helpful. One nice lady showed us on a free map all of the waterfalls and trails we could take. She also told us about the 3 lakes you can hike to and rent canoes at. I quickly realized we could spend all day here there was so much to do. We first went to the trail that goes to shovel point and this was great, I think we spent 2 hours on this hike. We then went to the trailhead and walked to the high falls first. This was a challenging hike with hundreds of stairs to go up and down but beautiful. We then went to the two step falls and this too was a great hike and beautiful falls to see. This took about 3 hours and we never made it to the lakes. We will be back and look forward to the trails that go to the lakes.

Another great mn state park! The hike to the upperfalls is short but challenging. It involves an old suspension bridge that adds just enough excitement to keep the kids moving forward.

Splendid waterfalls. Be sure to see both the high falls and two step. This is one you can do with kids. The trails are wide and well graded. There are wooden stairs that take you up and down and nice decks for viewing. We especially liked the suspension bridge.
