My daughter and I took the ride this morning and it was the best trail ride we've done yet. We have a horse and ride hunter/jumper regularly together at home and have done several trail rides different places that we've been on vacation, including at some very popular mountain locations and the Sawtooth Mountain Stables was the best yet. The horses were not bad mannered and mindless followers, you could actually get them to listen and behave like they should, yet they didn't require an expert rider either. The trail was fantastic with narrow sections, slippery rocks, some short steep sections and the turn around point is a fantastic open field at the top of the hill with spectacular views, yet not too technical for beginners either. You feel much more like you are actually having a "trail" ride, rather than just walking through a field, or down a road. Our guide, Savannah,(and her helper - I didn't catch her name), were very kind, thorough and friendly and you could tell that they really do enjoy doing what they do and take great care of the horses. This ride is perfect for riders of all skill levels; the horses are trained well enough to take care of beginners and give them confidence, yet also trained well enough for advanced riders to enjoy as well,(if you know what I mean). It is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, the great terrain and views of the north shore, and some very nice horses. I highly recommend it!

Jim and Saraphine are two of the nicest folks one could meet. You can tell they truly love their animals, what they do, each other, and the environment that they do business in. Had an awesome trail ride through gorgeous perfect scenery. My horse was well mannered and healthy. I enjoyed talking with them about the area. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to spend the day with some great animals and people. They are accommodating to skill level and personalities to properly fit you with your ride. Can't wait to go back up and see them again soon.

This trail ride was a excellent way to hike through the difficult terrain of the Sawtooth Ridge. The horses take you through the dense forest and up to a beautiful grassland with a view of the lake. The guides were wonderful. They had a garlic spray for the horses to keep the bugs and flies away. Worked for us too. I had my four kids, age range 10 -17 years old on the ride and my mother. It was a very enjoyable experience. In our group, only half had experience riding. I would highly recommend it for anyone whether you have ridden before or not.Note: They had the cleanest Biffy potty I have ever been in.
