The mall has Dillards, Van Maur, Younkers, Sears, JCPenney as anchors and lots of recognized trendy stores as well. Great choices for shopping, but not for eating. Unless you are looking to eat fast-food in the food court, or are looking for an Olive Garden or Hooters on the ring road, you need to make another choice for dining. There really are few options within the mall footprint.
This is a very nice mall, well-maintained and with a really good variety of stores. It's easy to find and easy to get to, and is just plain better than the one to the south.
Sure some malls are better. Some malls much worse. We found what we were after.Seemed like it had a variety of stores for all tastes and needs.
This mall is pretty well bombed out. Looks like an early 1970's construction that should have been torn down and redeveloped years ago. This mall also seems to attracts some pretty seedy looking characters. The hallways look like a flea market. Lots of kiosks with no appeal to a typical mall shopper. Some of the stores also look like flea market shops just there to fill empty space. I do happen to like the Dillard's and Younkers. My suggestion is to enter through Dillard's or Younkers, do your shopping and forget the rest of the mall.
Typical Simon property with average selection of stores
We spent a couple hours perusing the various mall stores before we were sick of the place, there's nothing special about it. The stores are not unique, pretty much your average mall lineup. Still I'm sure you'll find whatever you're looking for if you go. They've got a decent food court and it's easy enough to not get lost in the place. Restrooms are not hard to find. They used to have a painted penguin store but it's gone.
Nothing special! Not Iowa's largest mall for many years. Coral Ridge Mall in Iowa City great. Jordan Creek Mall in Des Moines great.
