My wife and I loved this tour and it can be combined with a trip to the world famous Cabellas Sporting goods nearby. The tour lasts a little under an hour. The factory is easy to find and there is a very nice factory store where prices are at a significant discount and factory seconds are a steal. They give you a head set with a microphone so your ears are protected and you can hear and communicate with the tour leader. Call first for instructions and times. It was mentioned that closed toe shoes are required. This is a world class operation with one million five hundred knives made last year. It is free. Also nearby are the Falls of Post Falls. They are a sight to see in the springtime and worth the visit. Plenty of free parking immediately in front of the entrance. Food is available in the vending machines of the workers cafeteria next to the factory store.
We visited the Post Falls manufacturing plant with 2 teens, 2 boys and 4 adults. The tour lasts about 45 minutes starting & ending in the factory store. A couple of important items of note:1. Closed toe shoes required2. Only 3 tours per day (10AM, Noon, 2PM)3. Plan ahead and call ahead. 4. Ages 7 and up onlyIt was pretty interesting to watch. You start at the blanking machines and work all the way around to warranty repair. (The guy in warranty has been there for 37 years - since he was 18!) The knives are all made there onsite and have Made in the USA stamped on them. Even special rivets were made there to keep the stamp legit. The biggest downfall was our tour guide. She had a bit of an attitude - prior tours had issues staying between the lines, with cameras, etc...and boy did we hear about it. I could over look that if it weren't for the GUM! Since we all had to were ear protection connected to her mic, the gum just about killed me! There are several tour guides - we just got lucky.
