abbott's mill nature center

Wonderful local spot with a working mill, newly built raised, handicapped accessible paths along the stream, and a lovely pond. Walking trails are peaceful.

We liked everything and the food is always good. The service is great and if you have time their happy hour is superb. The clientele is friendly and a business crowd. Relax at the bar in casual dress or dine on the dinner side in your dressy attire. Either one you choose the food and service will be great.

The nature center isn't always open but it's a nice place to see some stuffed wildlife and see some species from the local area. The nature trails are nice as well that run along the pond and creekThe actual mill is closed other than one Saturday a month from 2-3pm usually starting in march and running into the fall. so if you want to see that you should definitely call an plan ahead. Other than that it's a great afternoon stop. Probably will take 1.5 hours if you take your time

Usually peaceful unless the school kids are here (so may want to call ahead) Not a big hiking place but if not close to the beach why not here just off RT 113 in Milford...pretty pond and old mill with waterfall.

First, with regards to the person who wrote a review about eating here. This is not a restaurant. Maybe he did not like his picnic lunch. Must have thought that he was at Abbots Grill. Suggest that you check to see if the mill will be open. Makes for a little more interest as well as the nature center. Fun to do this with 6 to 9 year olds. There is not a lot here. Nature trail is short and easy and kids will like the viewing platform. You could spend and hour of so here.

The day we visited, the mill it was closed but the nature trails were open. It was absolutely beautiful. You could just feel the history at the mill. It's a wonderful place for picture taking. We will return when it's open.

Went there as a child and thought it was cool. Neat place to take my kids!
