Bret showed me around Arches and Canyonlands over two half days in late October and I was delighted with the results. Not only did I come away with some great photos but Bret taught me some invaluable tips regarding composition, various technical aspects and photo editing techniques. More valuable that the images which I'll print as soon as I get back to London was this education which will surely help me improve. Crucially, Bret is an extremely nice guy and I really enjoyed his company, which made for an overall highly recommendable experience. Thank you Bret!

I joined Bret and Jason for their 2014 Moab Workshop: Autumn in Canyon Country. Their knowledge of the locations and educational advice on photography was extremely helpful! They are both very talented and savvy on the latest photographic techniques. The one-on-one guidance and conversations really made this a great experience. They offered plenty of insight on both the art and business sides of photography. If you plan on doing any workshops soon, be sure to add Bret's to the top of your list!

My passion for landscape photography has developed over the last few years and I am always keen to learn. Spending a morning with Bret was a wonderful way to acquire new understanding of the framing of the image and using the technical resources of the camera to best effect to deliver what you have set out to create. He took us to some great locations and the set the agenda so that we got the best light for different types of shots. Bret is a very patient instructor - he leads you into making decisions rather than instructing you to use settings that afterwards you don't understand. I learned so much in a relatively short time about how to fine-tune the basics of what I had learned previously. My wife, who is a patient supporter of my hobby rather than a photographer herself, really enjoyed being with us and greatly enjoyed Bret's company and listening to his advice. As a professional educator herself, she was very impressed at the Bret's style and the manner of delivery of help. Bret is extremely charming and unpretentious. We had many great chats along the way while moving between sites. When you visit his gallery you can see his art in the final products. We had a fantastic morning with Bret and the lessons were then implemented at sites that he recommended on the basis of our travel plans. We strongly recommend Bret to anyone keen to acquire more skills and to get even greater pleasure from your images.

Attended the workshop fall 2014 Bret and Jason. Bret and Jason are an excellent instructors and fantastic photographers. The venue was amazing, but the time Bret and Jason spent with each participant to make sure we were all getting the most out of the experience was the most beneficial part of the workshop. I am already considering their July 2015 workshop.

Bret took my husband, Jerry and me under his wing. He is a great teacher and a very grounded young man. He spends time and educates on what, where and when to photograph. Easy to understand and offers great composition ideas. His knowledge of photo locations is excellent. We had a great time.We highly recommend Bret. Marinella Holden

Photography has been my passion for 25+ years. I have attended workshops in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. Bret is by far the best guide and teacher I have had the pleasure to work with.Bret is extremely knowledgeable about the various locations in Moab. He spent a lot of time upfront understanding my background, what I like to shoot, what equipment I use, etc. We discussed various locations in Moab. Bret then put together the ideal plan to visit select locations to take best advantage of the light, and the time I had on this trip. He discussed these with me in advance to make sure I agreed with, and was happy with the agenda. We visited iconic locations like Delicate Arch and Mesa Arch, and also hidden jems taking advantage of Bret's local knowledge.Bret is a very talented photographer. He has a great eye for composition, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the technical side of photography. In addition, what makes Bret special is he can really teach! I have a lot of experience with the technical side of photography (hyperfocal distance, depth-of-field, etc.). However, Bret was able to teach me how to better utilize these techniques in real world situations to improve my photos. Thanks to Bret, my knowledge and workflow has improved tenfold. I also came away from Moab with six true "keepers" that I have framed and hanging in my home!!Bret's teaching style is very considerate, patient, kind and respectful. I felt extremely comfortable working with him. Bret is a really good guy. I truly enjoyed talking with Bret on our drives to/from shoots, and hikes to/from locations. If you have the opportunity to visit Moab, I highly recommend you team up with Bret. You will come away with great knowledge, beautiful photos and a friend.Stephen T.

I had the true pleasure of spending a day with Bret on a workshop last Friday (Oct 11). The parks had been closed by our government, but Bret was open. He was open to anything, but was proactive in taking me on a tour of the Moab area that I won't forget. This workshop consisted of a pick up at my hotel about an hour before sunrise, a drive to our first site, some valuable coaching, and wonderful vibes and light and sights to start the day. In all, we visited 7 or so locations, including a climb into the La Sal mountains where we enjoyed a fresh 6-inch snowfall by a mountain lake with aspens in full color. We capped the day with a sunset shot at Castle Canyon. With that said, I cannot refrain from letting you know what a wonderful person Bret and his wife, Melissa, are, because I had an unfortunate problem: I lost a memory card during the trip that contained almost all of the photos of that day. After returning to Chicago, when I asked Bret to check his jeep, he did, but they also drove the 35 miles back to that sunset shot site at Castle Canyon, where I had changed cards, and they searched the area, with no luck. If anything could have soothed my disappointment and dismay, it was that act. But even if you don't have a disaster, you'll appreciate Bret's approach to the workshop: it's not about him, it's about you. He didn't take pictures himself, but he observed and offered whatever suggestions that were relavent and welcome. Highly recommended.

I recently attended an Arches and Canyonland photo workshop with Bret and Andy Biggs. The combination of his knowledge of the area, his photographic expertise, and his backpacking skills made for an incredible experience. He put us in the right place at the right time for some spectacular photos. Bret is a very personable guide and trip leader.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bret when he was assisting Andy Biggs during a workshop in the Moab area in early February.Bret is, in a word, fantastic. As a workshop guide he was open with his knowledge of the area. Too often workshop leaders are focused on their own photography. Not Bret. He took the time to work one-on-one with each attendee in the field and was incredibly approachable. His gallery is great too. Small, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful work. Even if you don't do a workshop with Bret stop in to look at his photos. They're inspiring and will make you want to grab your gear and go shooting.

Stopped in on my way through Moab. The artwork on display depicts the area and close by. The photography is TOP notch and such a friendly place to visit.

We had Bret take us on a 1/2 day photo tour to some of the less obvious spots. We had a fantastic time. Bret really knows the area and is great to be around. He is easy going and extremely knowledgeable. If you want advice, he'll graciously give it. If not, he's fine with that, too. Thanks to Bret's knowledge of the area, I came away with some fantastic shots that I couldn't have otherwise taken. I would not hesitate to repeat next time I am in the area.

I went on a half day photography tour with Bret. I reached out to him only a day before - he was very flexible and willing to help me out with a tripod (much appreciated!). Bret is super knowledgeable about the Moab area that allowed me to catch the best very light that the early morning hours can offer. Besides being a wonderfully gifted photographer, Bret is also an outstanding instructor. His pleasant, laid-back personality and valuable technical insights greatly helped me to make the most of this once-in-a-life trip. I truly hope to attend one of his workshops in the near future.Whatever your photographic needs are, Bret is surely your very best choice in the Moab area.

The gallery is just full of awesome photos in various formats to large canvas to smaller souvenoir sizes. The photos are spectacular landscapes and show the talent that Bret has to share with the world. I have also had Bret as an instructor in a workshop and he was very helpful in letting us get those great shots. He has a lot of knowledge to pass on as well as tips and tricks that always are useful. I'm hoping for many more workshops in the future. I believe he is also available to individual photographic guiding trips.

We went on a day photography tour with Bret and boy what a day. Bret is a really knowledgeable photographer with an easy going style and he was able to take us to places we had never heard of before or would never have known how to get there. He has a very good knowledge of the Moab area and was on hand with great guidance. The locations he took us to were amazing and took our breath away in terms of sheer scale and Bret is great at showing them in their very best light. I would highly recommend Bret to both new and more experienced photographers as his warm personality and easy going style makes him the perfect choice. I have taken lots away from the day we spent out with Bret that is holding me in good stead. Make a trip to Bret's gallery as well and see some of his work which is really great.

First off the caliber of images Bret Edge produces is astonishing, second the costumer service is superb and last but not least he has a vast knowledge of photography and the area surrounding Moab that he loves to share.
